It's normal to lose lots hair after you have babies. The cocktail of pregnancy hormones coursing through your body also prevents you from losing hair while you're pg. Once your hormones return to "normal," you shed massive amounts of hair. I wouldn't be too alarmed. It does eventually stop and you go back to losing the amount of hair you did before pg. I read you lose something like 100 strands a day w/o even realizing. That could be bs but it made me feel better.

    Isn't mother nature beautiful?

Yes, its from pregnancy and your hormones are trying to return to normal. I had massive amounts of hair around my brush and on my clothes for about a year and then it did start to taper off around 18 months for me. It was disgusting.

OMG! 18 months of this??? I've been losing hair for the last two and I have a LOT of hair. DH is getting frustrated and says I'm in competition with our Akita for who's shedding the most in August.

Yep, it's normal. I take a multi-vitamin every day and that seems to help it a little, while keep my hair healthy. You could try that, or just keep on taking your prenatals.

Normal. My sister lost so much she had sections where she looked like she was balding. It came back, of course, but her hair is still not near as thick as it was pre-pregnancy.

This is what's happening to me too...I look ridiculous. I got an estimate for extensions and it was $1000.00 so I guess I'll just deal. YUCK!

Mine finally tapered off recently. But seriously, my hair loss was crazy. I would find little piles of it everywhere, no matter how often I vacuumed.

Yep - I've got that going on also. The babies have my hair all over them - on their clothes, in their hands, wrapped around their toes. Our shower is disgusting - I HAVE to clean out the drain after every shower. Ugh.... I'll be happy when it goes back to normal.

Thank goodness I have really thick hair.
