    hi guys

    i need help

luna has little red bumps on the from of her chest, below her nipples, and some on her back. is this an allergice reaction to food??? i'm freaking out and am home alone and no one can come help me take them to the doctor. it's very hard to get out by myself as i live on the second story of a building with noo elevator.

does any one have any ideas? my sister mentioned (over the phone) rubella, but i just saw pics online and that doesn't look like it. those are severe red all over the body. this is just like twp patches on the front and two patches on the back.

if hubby leaves work he will lose his job, hence why he cant help me right now.

please any info would help please

do you have any baby benedryl in the house? if so, give her a dose.

    How is her breathing?

Do you have a local walk in clinic? Sometimes if you tell them your situation (hard to get out) they will tell you if you should come in. Or just call your doc - they'll page the on-call pedi. Don't worry about calling them, it's their job! Did you give a new food recently? We've never had a reaction yet but I think they say it is just as likely a couple days into a new food.

HOnestly I'd call the on-call doc who can at least ease your mind.

    Hope all is well.

It looks like the viral rash my DD got. The dr said just wait it out, should be gone 3-5 days. It was never uncomfortable for her, never scratched it. But a cool bath was recommened if it bothered her.

That doesn't *look* like an allergic reaction to me (and I have had many--I'm one who needs to carry an epi-pen with me!)

Typically urticaria (hives) would be larger splotches that ran together. With a particularly dangerous allergic reaction causing anaphylaxis, breathing would be difficult, and often the palms of hands and soles of feet would be extremely itchy (to the point where the baby would be SCREAMING in pain--I know I was the last time it happened to me, and I'm full grown)

However, any time you think it might be an allergic reaction, I think a call to the pedi and a close eye on breathing is good. Hope she's feeling better soon!

I agree that is what it looks like to me. Derek gets these with a cold once and awhile. I would not give any meds for it unless you talk to your Ped about it. I hope she feels better soon. Hang in there Momma!

ETA: Have you given any new foods or used new laundry detergent...anything that might cause an allergic reaction?

It looks like a heat rash to me. Try a nice bath and let the clothes stay off.

Poor baby! Is she uncomfortable? I'd call your ped., but it's very likely they will want to see her. It's very difficult to diagnose over the phone.

This is stressful for you and DH, both of you are stuck, scared and unsure what to do.
Try to concentrate on what you should do next instead of feeling angry with DH right now. Later, you and DH can calmly discuss what you should do in situitions like this. I know for me it was hard to understand how DH wouldn't drop ANYTHING to take care of the babies. In his defense, he couldn't understand why I expected him to put his job and our family income on the line and that I should just deal with the inconvience/ challenges of taking the two babies alone.

Is there anyone you can call to stay with your other baby, or just to help you get them out of the house? Maybe a neighbor or friend?

I was thinking how hard it must be for you to get both of the babies out of the house- I remember this! I would leave one carseat carrier in the car and one in the house. I would buckle one baby in the house and carry the other out in a sling/ baby bjorn. Keep your diaper bag in the car and have extra stuff in there so you son't have to bring it in the house as often. Or DH can put the diaper bag in your car when he leaves for woek.

Good luck- hope the rash goes away soon!

    hi guys

just wanted to let you know that we ended up taking them to the doctor. i got the babies down the stairs and into the car by myself and as i was oing to pull of of parking hubby calls me that he left work... basically on bad terms.. i guess my hanging up on him stressed him out... later in the day that would add to my guilt. anyways. we took them and they told us that she has a viral rash. and ends up that both babies have it. told me it isn't a big deal and will go away in a week or so.

i just wanted to thank you guys for writing. i was really freaking out yesterday. i know i have to get over this being scared of taking the babies out on my own. i don't know why its so hard. anyways, thank you for all the advice and support. it means a lot to us.

Wow. My baby girl has the same thing but I thought it was cause she switched from aveeno to johnson and johnson and her skin is just more sensitive than her brothers....Didn't know it was actually a viral rash. Good to know! Haha.
