Hi ladies I need some quick advice... So I am 36 wks and for the past maybe two days everytime I go to the restroom to pee I feel a "pop" like in my cervix. Last night I woke up to just a couple painful contractions and on one of my bathroom trips I felt the pop but it was much stronger. I am concerned about ky water breaking.. it didn't break in my first pregnancy so I'm not sure what to look for... So far it doesn't seem like too much fluid has leaked although it has seemed extra damp down there .. what should I do? I don't want dh to have to miss work for a unecessary hospital visit but Idk

I knew my water broke with both the boys and my girl. It was different both times- the boys were a pop and GUSH of liquid. I stood up and was still gushing so I ruled out peeing myself, lol. With my daughter it was a slight pop and trickle. It was pretty subtle with her. Again, I took inventory and wasn't peeing myself so figured it broke. My midwife didn't think my water had broken but did the test and it had. (I knew it!)

I would go get checked. It will give you peace of mind.

My water was broken when I was induced so I'm no expert but i understand that baby A's head can act like a cork and stop the big gush. If you have it checked you'll know for sure one way or the other. Good luck!

My water broke with all 3 of my pregnancies. My first was the pop and gush...I soaked through a pad, my sweat pants and a towel on the way to the hospital. The little strip of paper test confirmed it. I was 36 wks roughly.

My second I woke up in the middle of the night to pee and was extra wet. After sitting up and laying down several times I finally decided my water actually broke, it was more of a trickle, but by the time we got to the hospital it was gushing, I left a trail from the exam room to the operating room. The paper test confirmed this one too. I was 39 wks.

My twins I felt a very small pop sensation in the top of my stomach. I spent almost 2 hrs trying to decide if my water did break or not. I felt extra dampness but not gush or even a trickle. I finally went to the ER, and they did the paper test like 3 times, they said something was there but weren't sure if it was my water or not, not enough was coming out. They had me laid out flat on my back and not moving, and I suspect my water popped on my top twin not my bottom twin, which is why it wasn't really coming out. Anyways, after a couple of hours of observation, i had started contracting every 2-7 minutes, so they went head and called the dr in and the twins were born a couple hours later :) I was 36 wks 2 days.

It doesn't hurt to get checked, I would call your OB though, they can probably check you in the office :)

Thanks guys.. well they are mono/Di so i think that means if one breaks both do? Unfortunately my doc isn't always in office and they say I have to go to hospital if I have any concerns about labor so I may just go. It is a pain but you are right peace of mind is better either way

I think going and having it checked is a good idea, I am not sure what else would cause a pop sensation. Let us know what you find out.

I knew my water broke with my oldest DD because there was a gush after the pop. However with the twins I think it was a slow trickle, but it's something I figured out after the fact. I think it's definitely worth a trip to the dr. though to check, like you said for peace of mind.

It could be a small upper leak (which can repair itself if left on it's own). I agree, it doesn't hurt to get it checked out. Also, being mono-di means that your twins share a placenta but have their own amniotic sacs, so the sacs will break individually.

Yes, they tested three times bc they seen a "small amount" the first time but apparently my water hasn't broken so they sent us home. Hopefully they come soon I'm getting impatient ! Lol!! no explanation for the popping sensation I am having.
