My twibs are offically one month old! As hard as this month has been it has flown by. I can't beleive that I gave birth to twins!!

Anyway I am in need of advice. My DD is the fussy baby. Just recently has she started staying awake longer and not crying the whole time. However, she fusses the second I put her down. She screams in the bouncy seat, she screams in the swing, on the floor mat, in the boppy (unless being fed), in her car seat (I HATE going in the car as they both scream). Sometimes she screams on my lap even when i'm talking to her. Really the only way she is happy is up on my shoulder chest to chest. Any ideas on how to get her to sit somewhere else. I need to get things done around the house, take care of my DS and older child, have ten minutes without a baby in my arms. Is this just a phase and if so hiw nuch longer does it last? My DS will sit in his bouncy for about 15 minutes, play on the floor mat for just as long, swing, whstever until he gets tired bored. Not her. Any advice?

Do you have a sling or something like a Baby Bjorn? That would be my advice-to wear her somehow. I hope this is just a quick phase!

This sounds like my new baby! She'd be happy to sit up against my shoulder all day long! I use a sling during the day if she gets fussy and that works very well, especially chasing after my toddlers! When I lay her down during the day, I try to wait until a little time has passed after she's eaten so her tummy isn't upset and then I usually put her in a bouncy (that I keep up inside of the bassinet part of a pack n play so she can see her brother and sister without getting mauled by them!!). If I put her in too quickly, though, she'll scream. I think she may have a slight case of reflux - she seems uncomfortable when I lay her down too quickly after she's nursed and sometimes she'll even spit up.

Does it seem make a difference for your DD as to how long it's been since she's eaten? I notice a big difference if I just give her some time to digest - then she'll go into the bouncy and just look around happily or fall asleep. If she goes in right away after nursing, forget it! So I give her 15 minutes or so chest to chest by my shoulder if the twins are asleep or I keep her in the sling so she's angled head up enough to look around if they are awake.

The biggest thing I learned with my twins is to just keep trying things because phases will keep coming and going. Good luck getting through this one and I'm sure in a few weeks things will switch again!!

I would definitely try wearing her. You can try a Moby wrap, a Leo Storch, etc. See if it helps! GL!

My Viv was like that in the early months and she had reflux. So that's something to consider. She also loved being held in the Moby wrap so if you have one of those (or a similar type wrap) you could try that. This is very likely just a phase though - my LO grew out of it and I'm sure yours will too! GL and congrats on your twins :youcandoit:

my boys were like that at that age. We wore them in Ergo Baby carriers. I did dishes, laundry, cleaned - everything. They slept and loved it. I felt like they got the holding that they wanted - we probably did this for at least 6 weeks. Then, they were done with it - and wanted to be in bouncy seats and other stuff. So, my suggestion would be to wear her.

Baby wearing might just do the trick! I would also try and figure out if her fussy times have to do with feeding... she could be gassy or just plain old colicky. I think they sort of hit a peak fussy time and things start to even out after a week or two. Hopefully it's just a short phase!

Try baby-wearing, but also talk to your doctor about the possibility of reflux. That is about the time our guys got really bad and very fussy from it.

Thanks for yhe advice. I will try the sling I have tomorrow. As fir the feeding thing, I think she has reflux. She does spit up a lot. I try to burp her at each ounce, but sometimes I just lifting to burp sends the spit ip my way. Other tines it's an hour or so afte eating. I do keep her up on an elevate position for about 20 minutes after eating, but it doesn't seem to help with the spit up. She gets the hiccups about four times a day (they both do) and she tends to streatch out and arch her back when she cries. So many things I read say to put then in the bouncy/swing/carseat ECG to help with all of it but like I said she sceams.
Anyway I will try baby wearing and let y'all know how it goes. Thanks again

Yes, wear her! My baby girl was the same way. She had reflux, too. Wearing her around the house gave her the comfort che needed & kept her upright. She grew out of the fussiness around 4.5-5 months old.

Yep, definitely sounds like reflux. Have you talked to your doctor about meds? They can make a BIG difference.
