Hey ladies. I know I'm going to get crap from my wife tonight for posting on here [IMG], she already likes to make fun of me for reading this forum all the time, but we need some help coming up with middle names. We just can't think of anything we like. We're having identical twin girls, and have agreed on Payton and Mallory for the names, with Taylor as a back up in case we change our mind on one. The only restriction on the middle name is it can't end in a K sound. My last name is Hunt, so I'm sure you can all imagine what that would lead to [IMG]

I'm so sorry I'm not very good at middle names but I just wanted to tell you that I like your girls first names! For my girl I'm using an old faithful one, Lynn. Peyton Marie? Mallory Grace?

Middle names are a great way to pack a name with meaning to really make it special. And with twins, middle names are a great way to show the connection between the two. I don't like really matchy first names for twins, but I do love theme middle names for twins. We wanted to give Gabriela the middle name Joy in Mixteco, but the word was totally unpronouncable to both of us, so we picked another easier to pronounce middle name in Mixteco for her.
My first suggestion is to look to family names. Middle names are a great way to honor your connection with a family member, living or dead. You can use a name as a middle name that you wouldn't choose as a first name. Like we were considering my great grand mother's name Cora as one of the middle names.
Next I love the attribute names
Grace, Hope, Joy, Faith, even Love and Peace can make great middle names. OF these I like Payton Grace and Mallory Joy.
For Girls another good choice would be flower names. Like Payton Lily and Mallory Rose. or Violet, Lilac, Daisy, etc.
Are you religious? Old Testament, New Testament, Saints names? What ever applies to your families religion.
Foriegn language names are another great way to indicate some sort of connection to your family history. Are your ansectors Irish? Greman? Japanese?
Good Luck and don't listen to your wife, Twinstuff is GREAT!

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Meximeli - you gave us a lot of good ideas to think about. My family is mostly German, but neither of our families have a strong connection with our heritage. We looked at grandparent's names, but don't really like the way any of them sound together. Our mother's names are Marie and Joyce, so we're thinking about Payton Marie and Mallory Joy. We also like Payton Grace, Mallory Paige, Mallory Elizabeth. I think Payton is going to be the harder one to match up with.

if we were having girls, one was going to be peyton. Probaly peyton grace, but i always thought it sounded like "peytons place" [IMG] I like kind of boy names for girls too, so i really liked peyton ryan, and you could throw and extra "N" on to look more girly.. ryann. Um.. i also like peyton elizabeth. Mallory grace is pretty too. Our other twin girl name to go with peyton was erin.

  13. I really like Payton Marie and Mallory Joy. I also like the idea of giving a middle name to the grandparents. I am doing that with my girls. Then you arent putting the same first name too close together in generations, and still honoring your family. Beautiful!!

I let my two best friends chose my boys middle names, seeing as they are going to be the godmothers, i thought they should chose, and they did a great job in my opinion :p
