my twins r 9 months old. we started solids at 6mo. had a few delays and needed to stop here and there because not sure of allergies which turned out they r fine. so now they only eat cereals, fruit, veggies. i cannot seem to get them to eat anything else. they seem to not like meats i keep trying and all they do is give this horrible face and spit it out. the arrowroot biscuits they like and the cookies. cheerios they just throw on floor or spit them out. i tried giving them food i cook and same thing they spit it out. unless i am a horrible cook lol. i have even tried to mash up some veggies they like and they hate it.

how do i get them to except other things? i keep trying and they always just spit it out and act like its the worst thing on this planet. so i am limited to jared veggies and fruits.

I NEED ALL THE HELP I CAN GET I AM GOING OUT OF MY MIND HERE

Have you tried combining the meat with a veggie or fruit they like? Half/half on the spoon? That is what I would try. HTH! :hug99: My dd went on a solids strike for 3 months after she liked it the first month.

I think you just have to keep trying. I read you have to try up to 15 times with some foods before they will accept them.

At 9 months they should have the pincer grasp down, yes? You can also try foods they can feed themselves. Besides cheerios, you can do frozen peas (cooked until soft), raisins (I soak in warm water first to make softer), small pieces of very cooked potato, mac & cheese, zucchini, bread, etc. Just cook it till it's soft and cut into small bite size pieces. Mine also eat chicken and eggs this way.

For spooned foods you can try yogurt, applesauce, and I make a breakfast oatmeal which is basically 1 banana and a handful of berries cooked with 1 tbsp of rolled oats (add water to almost cover, bring to boil and simmer 10 min, then blend in blender/food processor).

How about trying a different brand of baby food that has a meat and veggie or fruit mixture. I got this as a suggestion when I was in the FY and it worked great. Keep trying the puffs and cheerios, they will get it.
