I have some gymbucks I need to use this week. Since the boys don't need anything right now I want to buy ahead but I have no idea which sizes to buy.

Jon seems to have leveled off with his weight gain. He's a little over 32 inches and about 22 lbs and seems very slim. Right now he's wearing 18 month slacks and 24 month shirts (because the head hole is bigger).

Nick is still gaining. He's a little over 32 inches but is probably over 28 lbs now and looks like he'll be inheriting his Dad's bigger body type. He's in 24 months in both tops and bottoms although some of the bottoms are too long.

If I buy winter sales clothes now for next year what sizes should I get? My friend told me they would stop gaining and would grow tall but that doesn't appear to be the case with both of them.

    Thanks!

It's so hard to decide. My girls are almost 2 & wear a size 18 months for most things, although for tops they can do a 24 months. Mind you that last spring they were a 18 months too. This spring they will be able to wear the spring clothes I had them in last year! Could you buy up 2 sizes? That would be 3t, you could always re-sell it on ebay.

I would buy a few 3Ts and go from there. Mind you, I have a 17 month old who is wearing 3Ts now. We don't buy anything in advance. Everyone has told us that he will slim down and slow down in growth. This doesn't appear to be the case for him. Anyhow, I would try the 3Ts. They are long on him right now but they fit him in the diaper/thigh area. Hope this helps some.

I am with the PP, it is only this year--my boys are 4, that I will buy things ahead--and only stuff like jeans and shirts that they can wear most of the year.

I bet there is a bunch of spring stuff in the store, why don't you use the Gymbucks for that?

Last winter Ryan was in 18mo-24 mo size. This winter he is in 2T & 3T. The 2T stuff is already small on him and we still have a few more months of cold weather. If you really want to buy ahead you could try a mix of 2T & 3T. Personally I don't buy ahead because I've had bad luck with it in the past since our kids continue to grow at a very fast pace.

Thank you all for your replies and help! [IMG]

I did end up getting a mix of 2T and 3T. However, you know Gymboree - even with the gymbucks it wasn't much stuff anyway. [IMG]
