I am running out of ideas for breakfast. Mainly because one of my boys-Anthony-seems to now be a picky eater! I did english muffins with a little bit of jelly today...Yep..no go for him. So then I made some oatmeal with applesauce...He tolerated that for a little bit-and then was done with that as well.

Here's what we've had thus far:
    -pancakes
    -waffles
    -french toast
    -english muffins
-cheerios(dry-have tried with milk-and they haven't quite figured it out yet-Nicholas refuses it!)
    -kix-again dry
    -cereal bars
-baby oatmeal/multigrain cereals-trying to use them up
    -yogurt
    -fruit
-scrambled eggs-this is the ONLY big hit!

That's seriously about it. It's a short list. And most of that stuff-Anthony refuses to eat! He doesn't seem to like "dry" items! Syrup doesn't even matter! He spits most things back out. He will eat fruit, yogurt, applesauce, and the cereal dry.

Plus, dh thinks they need "healthier" items for breakfast. Well...what??? I really do not know. And do you give fruit with every meal???? Sometimes dh will just give some dry cereal and fruit. Is that enough?? Probably I guess??

I'm beginning to see how picky Anthony is(will really only chow down on pasta/meatballs/sauce and mac-n-cheese). He will not eat most foods! And there is nothing that drives me more nutty than a picky eater(I was a preschool teacher in my previous lifetime!)!

Thats pretty much what my girls get as well. Breakfast is actually the easiest meal over here.

I have read for picky eaters to hide food in food, so make pancakes with fruit or veggies in it, or make an omelette with meat or veggies in it. I have put pumpkin, blueberry or peach applesauce, baby food bananas in pancakes. I have not tried the omelette yet but probably will this week since they can now have egg whites (yay for being one!!).

English muffins I put cream cheese or veggie hummus on and they love that.

And I do give my girls fruit at every meal, I call it dessert. Me and my stepdad are huge junkfood eaters so I decided to start early with fruit as dessert in hopes of curbing any future bad habits! I'll let you know if ten years if it worked!! ;)

Everything on your list (except the baby cereal) plus bagels, omelette, shredded wheat, peanut butter toast, regular oatmeal, and cream of wheat are in our rotation. I make their pancakes/waffles more healthful by using whole wheat flour for half to all of the flour called for and adding wheat germ and flax meal. I also add fruits/veggies to their pancakes and waffles even though they eat their produce just fine. It seems easier to get the fruit/veg servings in if I spread them out over all of their meals and snacks. I also add spices, dried fruit, and sometimes nuts to their hot cereal.

Husbands are funny... mine will throw a tizzy if I make them whole grain waffles with added mashed banana and a few mini chocolate chips because those half-dozen tiny specks of chocolate make it "not healthy". Nevermind that they have terrific eating habits. You might have to ask him directly what specifically isn't healthful about what they're eating.

Looks good to me. I can't get mine to eat eggs for the life of me. Mine do love bacon though.

Perhaps he's not much of a breakfast person and a smoothie would work better?

Ha! You think that's a short list? Here's our breakfast list, in it's entirety: oatmeal. It's all they'll eat, but they eat it well every day, so it's all they get. They get more variety later in the day, so I refuse to stress about breakfast! :)

Mine love Nutrigrain bars! They just gobble them up.

Breakfast is our best meal, and I think it's because we have a very limited rotation. Scrambled eggs, frozen waffles, oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, and pancakes (on weekends only) -- that's pretty much it (plus always some kind of fruit). Breakfast is the one meal where DH and I don't really mind eating the same thing all the time.

Do you have a Target Super Center near you? Take the kids on a Sat. and have them try the bread samples near the bakery. Mine LOVE the cinnamon bread and apple fritter bread. I eat the sugar part off the top (not good for my diet...oh well) and they eat up the rest. We've been struggling at breakfast lately too. Cheerios and the bread (sometimes banana chunks too) seem to be enough for them. They love their milk and would probably just drink that if I let them. Good luck!

Meg, that is a great list! My guys eat the same thing every morning and have for over a year. And they are so content with it. :)

    Your guys are doing great!

My girls favorite breakfast as of now is cut up waffles with a dab of cool whip and fruit on top. They eat the whole thing even though they are picky eaters at times.

    Good luck!

    That's a pretty great list! I wouldn't worry.

We repeat the same few items over and over...

    Pancakes
    French toast
    Waffles
Potato or Zucchini pancakes (I found a good frozen brand that's relatively healthy)
    Scrambled eggs/omelettes
    Oatmeal (NOT a hit)
Cream of wheat (I make it savory, with cumin and garlic, etc. Kevan loves it. Karina doesn't.)

Most mornings they also get fruit, and they split a yogurt. If they haven't eaten well, they get some Cheerios to top 'em off.
