Does anyone know if you can put a baby Einstein activity mat in the washing machine?
and if so at what setting?

We had a poop-tastrophe...the world's largest poop...out the top of the diaper...up the back...thank god she was playing by herself or else i would have two babies to bath!

My husband said throw it out, but those things are like $50 - if there is any chance of salvage I am going to try. There are no tags to be found on this mat -- I may have cut them off ages ago... the bars say to just wipe clean and if that is the case for the mat -- we are screwed.

    Ohhh poop!
    Ahhh poop!
    So much poop.

    :)

Thank you so much! I didn't even think of looking there. I didn't know they would list care instructions.

    Thanks a million!

I have a mat kind of like that. What you should do is see if there is a way to remove all the electronic parts (there almost always is) then wash it on the gentle cycle in cold water. Dry on the gently cycle on low or hang it to dry. The colors may fade slightly but probably not too bad.

We washed the mats all of the time. Gentle cycle, cold, and it really didn't fade. If it is like the one in the picture, just remove the toys and the part that attaches to the mat and throw it in the machine. We also put it in the dryer on low.

GROSS!! Sorry you had to deal with that nastiness! I say go ahead and at least try and wash the mat...I would assume being an infant toy that you would have to be able to throw it in the wash. I would like it hang to dry though. Goodluck!

Ich! A good cold water wash (and a little Shout) will probably get the job done. :)

I wash the mat all the time ... I have to with all the spit up! Just cold and a light gentle cycle and let it air dry. The colors will fade a little but it will get clean. I've washed it at least 5 times already.
