Okay so today I picked DD up from the babysitter and she said that she had a little diarrhea today.
Okay fine. So i take DD to the mall to have her ears pierced because I really wanted to get it done since the are suppose to get pictures done on Monday and I did not want her to have red ears.

When we get to the mall I did notice she was alittle warm when I was holding her. I just thought maybe it was because she had her jacket on and riding in the car she got a little warm. We shopped a little while longer like 45 mins and went home which is 30 mins away.

When we got home I noticed her head and chest were really warm I took her temp and it was 100.8 :icon_eek: Her temp really never goes over 97.5. I am a first time mom with babies who have never been sick this hold time. besides eczema and runny noses occasionally. I am freaked out! Should i take her to the E.R or what. Do you think it could be from having her ears pierced. i gave her tylenol about 15 mins ago and will check her temp again in maybe 15 mins. Could it be from teething, I know that gives you diarrhea too. I call the pedi and got the number for the triage at the hospital gave themt he same info and am waiting for a nurse to call me back.

Btw she is eating fine and seems happy. Also while changing DS inoticed he bled from his underarm and there is a tiny hole. yes a hole, under his armpit it is a hole the size of a pimple head. It does not look like a pimple though. He is not in any type of pain. I need help Iam one stressed out mommy. please respond quickly with help and advice.

Hope you've heard back from the nurse by now, but 100.8 is not that high for a 5-month old, especially if she's acting pretty normal. Did the tylenol help? Just rest and fluid and another dose of tylenol in 4 hours if the baby still has the fever are all I've ever done.

Don't know about the injury under his arm...sounds like something go stuck in his clothes and poked him!

From what I understand 'Babies run hot'... My ped's office said to call @ 101 and above. 103+ is when his office becomes "concerned"

thanks ladies the fever went down to 99.7 about an hour ago. the nurse finally called back and said to give her pedialyte after any more diarrhea episodes, and just to keep her hydrated, not bundled up, make sure that she has wet diapers and stays alert and if she cries has tears. and to call them back if fever reaches 103 ( she called me back to tell me that one.

you guys are the best itruly appreciate my fellow TS family.

:hug99: I hope she is feeling better. The first time the girls got sick, DH and I stayed up all night just watching them. We were SOOOO freaked out. Our pedi said if Tylenol brings down the fever than thats a good sign. The other thing we do is put a damp wash cloth on their heads.

That is scary the first time that happens. I know with Indira she was also shaking and turning gray/pale so I took her in. There were a few times she just had a fever for no reason and the tylenol helped.

    How is she feeling today???

Under 101 it's usually fine. Teething can cause fevers, but usually less than 101. It could be related to that, or a minor cold. I wouldn't be too worried if your child is acting and eating / drinking normally. If it continues to be high (or higher), please call your doctor.

    Hope she feels better soon!

Anything under 103 is not worriesome to me. Fever is the body's natural way to fight infection, mother nature at her finest.....

My Sweet Melody is doing alot better I gave her pedialyte, and her fever went down with tylenol. The diarrhea went away just this morning. She had me so worried but mmy lil mama was smiles the whole time which was a little comforting. Now dd has diarrhea <_< but thankfully no fever. Hopefully this is just attributed to teething. Thanks for all your advice. ( better than the pedi!)
