Ok, I got both cribs in the nursery and it is by far naptime - their first nap was only 25 minutes and they woke up from that at 9, so at 11 I put them each in a crib ... they are just bawling. Con keeps rolling over and he can't flip back so he bawls ... the crying is terrible! I'm trying the 5-minute soothe and pat thing, then 10 mintues, then 15 ... they need to know that cribs are for napping and I know they are tired, I am doing the right thing, right??? HELP! This is terrible!!

Or should I try CIO when they are both rested from a good night's sleep and not overtired? EEEK

I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you, but I too feel your pain!!!!!!!!! James seems to only want to sleep on his side, but can't seem to stay in that position so when he rolls onto his back, he wakes up and screams! CIO is so hard and I feel your pain!

    Good luck!

I feel your pain. My girls can go for an hour crying and screaming until they finally settle down and fall asleep.

I only have a suggestion for the rolling over. One of my girls does this, and I bought one of those styrofoam wedgie thingy for her. So there is a piece in front and behind her, you can adjust them with velcro, and now she can't roll over. I have been using it for a few weeks, and now she does',t even try anymore. Good luck!!

I was a softy, I let my boys nap wherever the napped best. Now they nap on the couch... and I can still get anything done in the house I so desire.

hang in there! Consistency is the key.

We have napping & sleeping issues with Jake, but not with Becca.

Because they are in daycare, we haven't been able to set a strict naptime. But one thing that I have noticed works is when he has been up for like 90 minutes...even if he is awake and happy, i put him the crib. He'll play and go to sleep. It doesn't always work, but when it does - there is no crying!

    Hang in there -

My DD aways crys at her afternoon nap. I have found the best thing is just lay her down, kiss her and tell her i love her, same to her brother and than walk out of the room and close the door (i leave it open a tiny bit) and i dont go back in for at least one hour. i found when i went back in to soothe her she just got all worked up again, and made it worse. Once they are quiet i do sneek in and check them but only if i'm sure they are asleep. good Luck to you just be consistant and they will get it. ((((HUGS))))
