My twins are 23 months old. They've decided that they no longer want to nap. We've always had a fantastic routine before naptime. Now though, I take them to their room and they bounce around laughing and talking for 2 hours. Then they are obviously moody and cranky the rest of the day. They've been in toddler beds for months so I know that's not the problem. It just started this week. This morning I took them to the park for 3 hours to try to wear them out! Do you think that worked? Of course not. Right now I am listening to "Wow...ha ha ha...(jumping sounds)...wheeee!...ha ha ha!" over the monitor.

The only advice I can give you is to be consistant. All of my kiddoes have gone thru phases of seeming to be done with napping but it was only till they were 4 that they truly gave them up. Anyway you can also try staggering naps if they are sharing a room. You can put the rowdiest one down first and wait till that ones quiet and bring #2 in. Or you can just seperate. Mine cannot share a room and take good naps or sleep good at night. Good luck and don't cave!

Ditto on Jessica's post... my kids have to be seperate for naptime..and I've still had occasional issues over it... If you have to then go back in, physically lay them down and tell them it's time to sleep. Do this repeatedly and hopefully they'll get the message... otherwise I'd try moving one...maybe to a PNP in another room...

I have mine separated for naps now. The naptime parties were too much and they didn't nap for months. It was making me nuts! I would separate them!

This is EXACTLY what I am going through! Same age, too. I went for a wonderful stretch of a couple months of them napping for two solid hours, sometimes longer. Then the past couple weeks, all they do is party. If they do fall asleep, it's near when they need to wake up. I am this close to separating them. I'm not sure how to do it though, as when I did separate them, one napped in the PNP in the playroom, and I'm not sure that would work anymore. It's driving me crazy!

I also second separating them. Do you have a PNP in your room or spare bedroom that you can put one in? At that age Kaitlyn fought me when it came to sleeping but she didn't get overly cranky if she didn't nap. When I drove around she would fall asleep in the car.
