    Hi everyone,

I hope some of you may know what is going on with her. Abby sleeps from 7-7 everyday. Wakes up happy, drinks most of her bottle, plays happily for about 15 min and then cries the rest of the morning. I have tried giving her babyfood after her bottle in case she was hungry. She eats the babyfood and then the crying starts back up again. Even when I am holding her she is crying. If we leave the house she is fine. This has been going on for about 2 weeks. We just had her 9 mo checkup, so I know there is nothing medically wrong. It breaks my heart to see her so upset while her sister plays happily all morning. What should I do?

    Thanks,
    Darla

Is she teething? When something like that happens with my kids, I will try a dose of tylenol or ibuprofen to see if they could possibly have pain somewhere. If that doesn't help, could she be going through seperation angst? But, if it doesn't stop when you hold her, it sounds like she really may be uncomfortable. Does it continue in the afternoon? Maybe she is just needing another nap sooner for growth reasons or something right now. Sorry for you, it's never much fun to have a sad baby.

Do you think she could need a nap after only being up for an hout? She does rub her eyes like she is tired.

    Two thoughts: tired? or teething?
What is your schedule? Have you tried tylenol? Like the pp asked, what happens in the afternoon? Did you discuss it with the ped? What did he/she say?

We went though this same thing with Nick when he was on the verge of a milestone (crawling/pulling up/cruising). I think he was plain old frutrated at not being able to make his body do what his brain wanted. To make matters worse Joe mastered these things a couple weeks before Nick so he was sitting around watching Joe make it look easy.

Picking him up did not improve things b/c he wanted to get down and do/try it. I spent most of the time ignoring poor, independent Joe and working with poor, frustrated Nick. It passed once Nick got over the hump and figured things out.

I sounds like she could be teething......You might also try a morning nap.....My kids sleep from 7-7:30 but then take a 9:30 am nap as well. Will she stop crying if she's stimulated.....tv, you playing with her?

Thanks for all of your replies!

SweetpeaG- I think you may be right. Allison started crawling a few weeks ago, Abby can't do it yet. That is about when Abby's crying started. I do think she is frustrated, poor baby tries so hard!

    Hopefully it will pass soon!

I talked to a PT about exercises we could do with Nick & she said to have him play while kneeling to get him used to that feeling. Also, lay on the floor and let Abby crawl up you. My kids LOVED (and still love) when we did this.

Also, throw some bigger pillows or small couch cusions down on the floor. Something low enough for her to crawl/pull up on (but soft so when she crashes it's not terrible).

    Good luck Darla.

I agree with SweetpeaG, get in the floor, roll around with them, they will LOVE it, and she will be very entertained.

Other thoughts, maybe she does need a little nap. You never know...
