Hi, Adrian has had diarhea so badly since last Thursday night, we took him to the dr on Saturday, he said pedialyte and watch him, that it would clear up on its own... Monday back to the dr, sent him to hav ea stool sample done... did that, back to the Dr monday night, he told us to take him for an xray of his bowels/intestines, and to give him half a chewable Immodium, since the kaopectate was doing absolutely nothing for him, so I took him for the xray first thing yesterday morning, gave him the immodium right after, which did help the diarhea to slow down... it went from 12-15 times a day, yes even in the night he had to keep waking up to go, to only twice yesterday... but the gas pains are so terrible for him... I dont know how to help him with that! We are still waiting for the results from the xray and the stool culture... should be in today.... but what can I do for him???? Any ideas would be great, his poor littl ebum is raw from the diarhea and he cannot do anythign for the gas pains!

We use the kids chewable Pepto tablets here. They usually work well to clear up stomach issues quickly. And for an irritated tushy put diaper rash cream on it to help it heal and to protect it. I hope that he's feeling better soon, poor thing.

Raw potatoes seem to do the trick here. Old wives tale, that has so far worked for us.... Put a little salt on for taste. Also, I would stick with foods to bind him up, cheese, bread, pasta, etc...

Poor little guy!! Try the BRAT diet -bananas, rice (baby cereal?), apples and toast. That is what our ped recommends for puking and diahrea. Oh and pedialyte too. HTH [IMG]

Give Activia a try. It's a new yogurt for digestion issues> I used it for one of the girls & she was great after a few days. As for the diaper area, out pedi said use plain desitin. Don't wash off at diaper changes, just kind of wipe around. We also tried mylanta, put directly on the behind, which worked like a charm for the real "red" rash.

Poor kid!!! Is it the rota? I also think that the DanActive stuff works great. Also, the brat diet is a huge help too!!! Hope you find some answers soon. There is stuff called Butt Paste out there and I cannot believe how fast that works on diaper rashes!!

    Hope he is better soon!
