Help, bad cold

I'm so sick, plugged nose, sore throat, coughing, headache etc. I've been taking Tylenol for pain and cough drops and drinking lots of water. Is there anything else I'm allowed to do? I can feel it going into my chest, my colds usually turn into bronchitis from when I was a smoker (I quit 6 1/2 months ago) I'm seeing doc on Thurs but I hate the coughing, It hurts my tummy, lots of pulling etc. Please help!

 

Off hand I can't remember what you can take for a chest cold. But if you are not getting in to see the dr. until Thursday I would call tomorrow to find out what you can take. I would have for you to be miserable until Thursday. Hope you feel better soon!

 

call and ask, all that coughing is bad for you and uncomfortable, I have BTDT and tried to tough it out and eneded up w/ bruised ribs.
My DR told me robitussin dm was okay.

I went through this about a month ago...I was doing the usual Sudafed Severe Cold with lots of fluids. I did see my family doctor, who wrote me an Rx for I believe Amoxicillin...he told me to take it if I wasn't feeling any better within a week. I checked w/ my OB who said it was fine..however I decided to fight it out and two weeks later I was feeling better! <_<

 

I have a short list that my dc gave me that I could use for colds - Robitussin (plain); Sudafed (plain); Tylenol (plain).

I just got over a head cold and I was allowed to take Robitussin or Sudafed, plus Tylenol, in moderation. Luckily, it only lasted a few days! Usually I am sick for a week or more and end up with Bronchitis due to my asthma, but I was very fortunate this time around that my chest stayed pretty clear!!
