Dd has been having trouble feeding the past 2 days. She wants to eat but is screaming and crying in pain. She's on Pepsid and I've given her gas drops, to no avail. It has only not happened during maybe 2 feedings. Don't know if this is gas (then the drops aren't working), reflux (then the Pepsid isn't) or something else. Any suggestions? And what is gripe water btw?

Thanks for any help you can give. I might call ped shortly, but thought I'd throw it out to you experts first!

Have you checked her mouth? One of my little ones cried when eating and i noticed he had thrush. :( With medicine, it cleared up right away.

My guess would be that it's the reflux. Ours was the worst around 3 months. She might need a dosage change or switch in meds. :hug99:

Gripe water. I hever had much luck with it, but I know some people swear by it!

My first guess would be reflux. We also upped the dosage on my girls around 3 months, they had to adjust as they gained weight.

Ditto on the reflux/change of meds. My guys went from Axid to Prevacid.

Has she had any cold like symptoms? Could be ears you know. They can't stand the pressure to suck when their little ears are sore.
Do you do infant massage with her? That may help also, along with something warm on her tummy like a dryer fresh towel?

Has there been a change in food? Mine screamed during every feeding. Arched there backs and screamed. They thought it was reflux. We did medicine and everything. Turns out they were allergic to soy and dairy. I had started fenugreek to increase milk supply and they were allergic to it since it is in the soy family.

Sounds like reflux to me, but Cailyn had the same problem when she was about 4 months and it turned out she had oral thrush.
