I cannot find the sheet the ped gave me anywhere. Jack weighs 24lbs. and I give him 2.50 but Lily has weighed 21lbs. forever and I have always given her 1.875. It does not seem to be doing much and I am wondering if I am giving her the right dosage.....

I am not into alternating with tylenol so I just need to know the proper Infants motrin dosage>>>

    THANKS!

I must have different Motrin than all of you. I use the Children's elixir. It says it's from 2-11 but it comes in a HUGE bottle & if you have a syringe (it comes with a cup), it's WAY cheaper (especially since I buy generic). The concentration is 100mg/5ml & the boys have gotten 5ml for a long time (Aiden can now have 6, but we typically give him 5 just to keep us from mixing things up because Conner is still at 5).

I'd highly recommend getting GENERIC Ibuprofen children's elixir. For the amount vs the money, it's a steal compared to those Motrin infant drops! I've used Walgreens & Walmart brand with good success!

Hope your kiddos feel better soon!

I just wanted to say thank you to you all because reading this I realized why they still seemed agitated with their teeth after I gave them motrin! Mine are both 20 lbs and I was still on 0.8....duh!

    I can't believe I missed that.

For future purchases, you might try the children's formula like Andrea mentioned. I started buying it because a bottle of the infant stuff will be gone in 2 days if I have to treat both kids around the clock!

We do 1 tsp of children's motrin (generic) for Aidan who is 23 lbs. Addison is 19 lbs and we give her 3/4 tsp.

This is kind of an aside but because of an irresponsible babysitter, Elias once chugged a whole bottle of motrin (he's very clever at opening things, including childproof lids - I call him Houdini). Anyways, after panicked calls to 911 and poison control, I was told that he would be fine. The worst that might happen is that he has an upset tummy because motrin can be hard on tummies. He's 25 pounds. I must admit, it made me a little less concerned about getting it directly to the line or measuring it perfectly if I have a crying baby in my arms at the same time.

OMG I would be livid at my babysitter! Oh and this might be the case for Motrin, but too much Tylenol can be very dangerous. GL to all the mommas who are dealing with sick and in pain kiddos
