Well, I have some BIG kids! Last appointment a whopping 21 lbs and 21 lbs 9 oz.
Anyway, DS has outgrown the swing. He is trying to climb out. DS also has reflux so has to sit up for at least 30 minutes after a meal.
    ~
My mom stays home with them since I am back at work. She is wonderful with them. However, she feels like she doesn't have enough "activities" to do with them-especially right after a meal when DS has to stay put(this is not an easy task).
Any ideas for her??? Weekends when DH and I are with them its different b/c we are less rigid about our schedule.
    ~~
An outline or schedule of your days activities would be nice. Naps are fine here, just need more ideas on things to do with them. They read and have tummy time back time, jumperoo, exercsaucer, singing, walks(early morning only for her--it is very hot still here in sunny Orlando)
I used to be a teacher so I think of everything in lesson plans and rotating centers. (ie DS in walker/DD in exersaucer, then DS in exersaucer/DD in jumperoo, then read story for both, then swing time, then tummy time, then activity gym time, etc)

Sounds like you guys do everything we do, but here is our 'schedule' in case it helps you.

7am- out of crib and play in mommy and daddy's big bed!
    7:30ish- bottle
8am- nap (since they usually wake up an 'talk' to each other, play etc in their cribs starting at 6ish)
    10am(ish)- breakfast (cereal and fruit/veggie)
10:30am(ish)- play- usually one in the exersaucer, one in the walker (on carpet so she can't move).
    11am- bottle
11:30- play- rotating between exersaucer, walker, jumperoo, or on the floor with toys
    12:30- nap
2pm- errands! they love to get out of the house :)
    3pm- bottle
until 4pm- play but quietly.. reading, playing on the floor with toys, listening to music.
4pm- nap (yup, still three naps here)
5pm- wake up and be cranky! time to jumperoo!!! One jumps in the jumperoo, the other in the bouncy exersaucer while we listen to music.
from 5 to 6 I rotate them- jumperoo, exersaucer, walker, floor.
at 6pm I turn on music or we read- well I read and they try to eat the books!
    6:30pm- dinner (cereal and fruits/veggies)
    7:00pm- bottle and bed

Now that they are more mobile they really like being on the floor with toys a lot. Last week we got a corral (the one from one-step) so they can be on a blanket playing and I can leave them to run to the bathroom or get their dinner ready without worrying that they have rolled/crawled into the front hall! BTW, even though my girls still fit in their swings I'm selling them because they are zero interest in them now.

We are having the same problem. Our twins are very similar in age. . . my DD's are 7 months and 7 days old. Here is our typical day (I am a teacher and went back to work at the beginning of the year, ugh! My DH is a firefighter and watches them during the week and if he has to work my MIL has them):
    7 AM wake up
    7:45 bottle 7 oz.
    8:15 oatmeal and fruit
    8:30 - 9:30 play (tummy time, stories)
    9:30 - 10:30 nap
10:30 - 11:30 play (exersaucer, more tummy time)
    11:30 fruit
    11:45 - 12:00 bottle 7 oz.
    12:15 - 3:30 nap
    4:00 bottle 7 oz.
4:30 - 6:00 play (exersaucer, dance around house, tummy time, watch vacuum, and if absolutely necessary "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" show)
    6:00 veggies
    6:30 - 7:00 play in highchairs
    7:00 bath/story
7:30 bottle 7 oz. then bedtime

What is your day like??? Does mine sound fairly normal for this age group?

    Thanks,
    Jen

I'm so glad I saw this post..I was just wondering what others were doing! I know our days are very boring if we don't leave the house (which we don't 2-3 days a week!). Now that it's not so hot, I need to start taking them outside and hopefully the nice fresh air will be good and wear them out a little. Mine seem to be on the verge of crawling, so I think things will be less boring once that's starts happening, to say the least! This is our typical day:

    7:00 Wake, change diapers
7:30 Bottle, play witht toys on floor
    8:15 Breakfast
8:30 ish Back on the floor playing
    9:00-10:00 or 10:30 nap
Wake from nap and watch sesame street and have bottle around 10:45
11:00 More floor time, play (I feel like we have WAY too much floor time, but I don't know what else to do!)
    12:00 lunch
After lunch Jumperoo and Exersaucers until naptime at 1:00
2:30 Wake from nap and floor time,
    2:45 ish Bottle
3:00-5:00 This is when we leave the house, if we leave the house. If we don't leave the house, this is our really boring time! Now that the weather is nicer, I'm planning on taking them outside some during this.
    5:00 Dinner
5:30 Play with daddy, mommy gets break
6:00 Bath every other night, or play more with daddy
6:30 Bottle during Wheel of Fortune (yeah, I know)
    7:00 Bed

We have so much floor time...I rotate toys throughout the day, we read books, listen to music, sing songs, practice standing, occasionally watch a video, etc. We do go to playgroups once or twice a month, also.

It sounds like she is doing a lot! I would say she's got it all covered!

    We have this: http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/produc...ategoryId=85217

Underneath we have a big sleeping bag and then a comforter so its cushy and washable (My spitter, Ana, can't be trusted on the carpet!). I rotate the toys and board books... when they get gross, they get washed and the girls get 'new' toys.
