My little one got his helmet today! I would love to see some pics of your little ones with them on if they have 'em. . . My little guy's got superman on his and I'll post a pic as soon as we take one! This is an exciting adventure we are about to embark on ;)

Yep, I've seen these! I'd like to hear some stories from people that are going through or have been through the helmet process. We are on day 1 of the wearing schedule!

Thanks for sharing photos! Our ds Riley will need a helmet but not for another month or so. Right now we are doing positional therapy to see if that will correct some of the plagiocephally.

I was about to start a thread about helmets but you all beat me to it!

Can I ask if you did positional therapy and did it work? Can you tell me a little bit about your experience with the whole process? How is your child coping with wearing the helmet? How many hours a day does your child need to wear it? How do you keep it clean?

You can see that I am new at this and want to see how others did it!

We tried the positional thing but couldn't keep our ds in the right position! So on to the helmet! We got three "2nd" opinions and just decided to go with it. We're easing up to the 23 hours a day routine but will be there by the end of the week. I PRAY that he won't have to wear it that long but we'll be o.k. for longer just so his little head turns out right. . .

    Here's pics!

My dd also has this and I have tried to turn her head whenever she sleeps but it hasnt worked. She is 6 months old and I have been doing that since she was about 4 months so I am going to ask her doc if he will write a referral for a helmet. My son also had this problem and his doctor convinced me it would get better on its own but he is 2 now and still no change. We are taking him to a neurologist on Wednesday to get it checked out as he also has some development delays. This time around I am not going to risk it no matter what the doc says! I have a question though, how long does it take to get the helmet and how do they do it?

It took about 2 weeks to get the helmet. Samuel had his head scanned and they custom built it to fit his head. It was pretty cool.

I'm the queen of on-line support groups and just found this one. . . they have a lot of great information I wish I would have had before we started:
