hi everyone, i'm from brisbane australia. I am 22 yrs old with 21 month old fraternal twin boys. I was just wondering at what age did all your twins start talking? My boys only say there, mum and dad. I've heard that twins take longer to start talking but was wondering what you all think. Thanks and i hope i get to know you all a bit better over the coming months.

I have almost three year old identical girls and they did not start really talking until about age 2 1/2. Now they talk quite a bit. I have always heard that twins and boys usually talk later also. If you get time, stop in the 1-5 forum. There's lots of posts about when twins start talking.

 

Welcome! It's great to hear from someone who is actually experiencing summertime right now. I hope you are having a warm sunny day.

My boys didn't even say mama or dada until they were two years old and now they are almost talking in sentences. Boys (and sometimes girls) can very late talkers so hang in there. I bet they'll be talking a lot more in the next six months.

If I have any concerns about my kids development, I talk to my doctor. Better safe than sorry. It sounds like your sweeties ma be a bit behind so an evaluation can't hurt. I am sure they will catch up but a little help getting them there is a good thing!

My twins started talking around two... It just happened one day. So be prepared because once they start, they never stop! LOL!

 

My fraternal twin boys are 19 months. I have one that talks up a storm and one (Ethan) that only says a few words (mama, dada, more). I will probably get Ethan evaluated around age 2 if he isn't talking more by then.
