Well, here I am in first year forum, seems hard to believe my babies are finally here. They were born Dec 13, so are almost a week old now. They had lost 12% of their weight while in the hospital and while I tried very hard- I have already thrown in the towel with the breastfeeding. I have to feed them every 3 hours right now because of their weights, they need to come back up some!
Right now it seems like I have angel babies- they hardly ever cry and sleep for at least the 3 hours, but I am having to wake them up a bunch too! But I am sure this has to do with just being a week old, and high bilirubin, curious to see what the next few weeks bring.
I am excited to start hearing about fun first year things- if you have any advise for me I would love to hear it!!!

Congratulations!! How exciting for you! Advice? let's see..... Except ALL help. Sleep when you can. Set up a good sleep/feed schedule with your DH so you get some sleep yourself. the best one I've seen so far (especially if he works during the day etc.) is have him take the 7-midnight shift and you SLEEP. Then you take over from then so he can sleep through the night. I DID NOT do this and I was exhausted as the girls Dad hated being up in the middle of the night so I'd end up getting up with him as well as being up early eve etc. so I never got any sleep and it really wore me thin. Don't be afraid to let the babes sleep in the swing, bouncy seat or even the car seat. some people may disagree and I had a hard time at first too, but when Dad took his shift he'd put the girls in the car seats because it was easier to "prop" bottles and also he could rock them with his feet if he was burping one etc. and the babes seemed to like the seats as they were all snuggly. Did I say except all help?? Enjoy the babes - you are in for the ride of your life. Congrats again.

Congrats on the birth of your babies. I agree with everyone else. Ask for and accept any help you can get b/c doing it on your own will wear you out. I did not do that and I am just now asking for help and am very worn out from the last 3 months. Yeah and sleep when they sleep so you wont be so tired all the time (something else I wish I would of done). Take lots and lots of pictures. Mine have changed so much in the last 3 months. It is hard to believe how much. Don't worry about the housework. I have finually given up on that b/c I was worrying about the house instead of enjoying the babies. I just make sure dishes, clothes, and dinner are done. The rest can wait until the babies are a little bit older. It is fun having twins though. Me and DH BOTH get to hold a baby when we go out. Oh yeah when you go out, allow A LOT of extra time b/c everyone will stop and want to talk to you and see the babies. Good luck.

Congratulations on your new babies! That is so exciting. I remember when I first started posting questions about my boys during the first month or so and people would always start with "well, the first 3 months are such a blur..." and I never thought I'd ever feel that way about such a huge chunk of my life. But...6 months later I am right there with them! I see pictures of when they were a few weeks old and I can't recall any memories surrounding that time. So I'm saying all this to say my advice is to just breathe in those early days because although they may seem like they'll never end, they will fly by. And if the only way to relax and enjoy that time is by accepting every bit of help that comes your way, then by all means do it. Although I was told a million times to, I didn't. I still made it just fine doing everything myself, but I think I could have enjoyed it even more with a few extra hands here and there. As a pp said, having twins is so much fun so far. I can't imagine my life without them.

    congratulations!!

We had to wake our girls every 3 hours for over a month because of their weights. Trust me, they will wake up soon!! It happened for us around their due date.
