    Hello!
I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Becky, and I am new to twinstuff.com and I am pregnant with my first set of twins. I am 21 weeks, and have a four year old little boy. I am expecting another boy and a girl come November. Very excited...but very tired and sick at the same time. :( I am not enjoying my pregnancy at all...and i have lost a total of about 40 lbs, because I have been so sick. I a over half way there, so I do see a little light at the end of the tunnel! :p
Hope everybody has a wonderful day!

Thanks ladies! Hopefully I will start feeling better.....Im not even keeping hardley anything down, even with Zofran. And of course the other stuff they gave me I had a allergic reaction to.....so, yes, I am very patiently waiting until November! :) Meanwhile trying to keep myself from going crazy by doing nothing. :) I have pretty much put myself on bedrest because I have felt so crappy. However, I am still working, and that makes it kind of hard. I work from home, so I guess it could be worse. hehe. But is very difficult having a four year old at home...and did I mention he is very strong willed?! hehe.

Welcome to TS! You'll love this forum, it's a great resource and everyone is SO helpful in all questions, even the most random!

I'm so sorry you've been so sick, I've dealt with the sickness all my pregnancy, not to the severity of you though. I can tell you though, Zofran didn't do dittly squat for me, I had to soley go on Phenegran ... my doc had originally told me take the zofran during hte day and Phenegran at night and I was taking the phenegran all day b/c zofran didn't work, and the kind I had you had to disolve under your tongue, it made me even more nauseated. Have you tried Sea Bands? My husband got those for me and they actually helped a lot and also Gin Gins Ginger Candyhelped too. Hopefully maybe you can try those and maybe it'll help you.

    Again welcome to TS!!!!

I have tried promethazine, which I believe is the generic for phenagren. I actually had a allergic reaction to that one, they gave me something else, and to be honest with you I didn't take it. My brother in law, who is a pharmasist, informed me that I was very likely to have a reaction with that one as well, and the doctor agreed with him. So...I have two bottles of anti-nausea medications I cant even take! I have tried just about everything under the sun for nausea. Ginger, peppermint, crackers, popsicles, you name it and nothing seems to work. Even the sea bands. My doc did suggest coke to me last time I was in...just to sip throughout the day. My hubby is at the store getting some for me now. Im seriously ready to try anything I can get my hands on, hehe! However, I have a feeling this is gonna stick until I have these babies. :) This is so different than my pregnancy with my son, I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was like four months, ha! So...this is like a whole new world for me. I cant even drive myself to the doctor, lol! I feel so helpless....

I'm so sorry nothing is helping. My doc said that it's typical to have bad morning sickness during the pregnancy. There is another anti nausea med that typically they use for chemo patients, I don't know if you can take it during the pregnancy though, it's called Compazine (spelling might be wrong), maybe that would help. They've got to do something so that the babies continue to get the nutrients they need to grow. I have heard of coke helping, but it gives me a bad headache so I tend to stay away from it. I do hope they find you some relief b/c it's miserable! Mine started at 7 weeks and continued until about 22 weeks, then I had a rest from it for a few weeks and then it came back, so back on the phenegran I went and rocking the sea bands. I posted in my heart burn post about the instant potatoes, maybe that would help with the nausea, it helped with my heart burn. They're not the tastiest (I don't put anything on them) but it seems to work. Oatmeal was another thing that seemed to help me too now that I think about it.

Also, have they done a CBC to verify you're not dehydrated? Have they done a urine dip to check for Ketones in your urine? that was the first thing my OB did when the morning sickness came back with me.

I just found this article on IVilliage, maybe some of these remedies will help you!

Hi & Welcome to TS! I hope you get some relief from your morning sickness. Sprite (I can't STAND any cola) worked for me, sipping it all day long, for about 2 weeks. :)

Not sure if they have done a CBC, but they do check my urine everytime I go in. This past time he did tell me he could tell I wasn't eating right...and I informed him that if I could, I would. LOL. And as far as the compozine goes, that was the other medication they prescribed me. I was actually told I shouldn't take it, becuase my reaction was so severe with the promethezine. I feel like I cant catch a break! ;) Well I did do the cola this morning, and it seemed to help a little *knock on wood*. Hopefully it will keep working, hehe!

But he also did mention that he wasn't gonna worry at this point in time, because everything such as my blood pressure and lab work seemed normal. But, I can stand to loose a few pounds anways, ;) I may be skinny when I get these kids out of me, LOL! However, earlier in my pregnancy, they did request a IV for me here at home and of course, my insurance denied it. I guess you have to be dying to get some help, hehe! But they did mention that if I had any problems with dehydration to go to the ER, and they could help me there. And he was very happy with the way the babies are growing, I had my ultrasound done last week. He said the measurements and everything were great.

Its been so hard for me to drink any type of coke, I stopped drinking soda last november.....well anything carbonated at that! I forgot how much it bites back! Hehe!

So sorry about the MS. I had difficult MS till about 22 weeks, now I just have refulx and some food intolerance.

I was able to take the phenegren which really helped but made me sleepy. I sipped sprite and coke at work to keep the waves down. It did help for me in small doses....any kind of large drinks aggravated my refulx.

I thought it was going to last the entire pregnancy and one day I woke up and it was like the nausea cloud had been lifted. I hope it comes for you soon!
