    Hi Everyone [IMG]
I've decided to come out of lurking. I'm 11 weeks with identical twins. We know for sure they are diamniotic but do not know yet about mono vs dichorionic. I've got a level II u/s next week with a perinatologist for the NST and hopefully we will see if they are mo or di. It's been 2 weeks since my last u/s and even though everything was fine and they both had nice strong HB's, I can't help but worry if they are still OK. I'm a constant worrier and I think about m/c, TTTS and vanishing twin all the time. I've had 2 m/c's in the past and this is my first pregnancy to go beyond 8 weeks. My latest worry is that I'm not looking very pregnant yet and that maybe they stopped growing. My symptoms haven't been that bad compared to other ladies here. My pants are tight and I find myself more comfortable in maternity pants, even though I don't really need to wear them yet.

I was hoping maybe some of you ladies would indulge me with 11-12 week belly pictures or share some comforting 1st trimester stories.

    TIA [IMG]

First of all, welcome and congratulations on your twins! I'm so sorry for your past losses. [IMG] I can empathize with you in that and I know how hard it is to not worry. If you know they are identical, I would think they are monochorionic. If they are actually dichorionic then they could be fraternal or identical. I'm glad you are seeing a peri...they do tend to have better ultrasound equipment. [IMG] It's still early to "look" very pregnant, especially if this is the first pregnancy where your uterus is actually growing. Tight pants are a good sign! Seeing two strong heartbeats is also a good sign. I think often with vanishing twin one baby could have a weak heartbeat, look to be in a very small sac, or be measuring quite a few days behind the other baby.

    Keep looking up! [IMG]

Congratulations! Just be very thankful that you don't have very bad morning sickness. The first three months were very difficult for me due to m/s. I'm now 30 weeks and I still get sick off and on. Don't worry yourself too much. Just take it one day at a time. Lots of us have had m/c's prior to our twin pregnancies but still carry to term. I had a m/c at 9 weeks previously. My OB told me that if you are going to miscarry you would do it prior to week 10, in most cases. So you have already passed that hurdle! My advice is to try to eat a lot and drink plenty of water so their sacs can grow well. And be sure to take your prenatal vitamin daily. A lot of the moms drink protein shakes which is a great idea. Also, I started wearing maternity pants at 11-12 weeks for comfort reasons. We usually measure 4-8 weeks ahead so this makes sense. Try not to worry and just take it easy for your babies.

    Hi and welcome [IMG]

I have had the same worries - I didn't put on any weight until week 11 - especially when I read about others saying that with twins you look half way through at the end of the first trimester! But the truth is that everybody carries differently, and especially if this is your first pregnancy where you really start stretching and growing you'll look less pregnant. Remember, they're just 2 inches long each, though they're almost fully formed!

Anyway, my anxiously awaited ultrasound yesterday showed them both alive and well, and even a few days ahead in size (plus two very small nuchal folds, so I'm relieved on that score too, being 35 and all). I'm a worrier too, but I think the best we can do for them is try to relax and feel happy - I try to ration my worrying to a set time each day where I neurotically look up facts and numbers on the net, and the rest of the time stop myself from thinking about it and instead dream happily about their arrival! And come here for reassurance, that has helped me a lot [IMG]

    HI!! [IMG]!! AND CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I didn't look any larger at 11 weeks - but started wearing maternity
pants at 9 weeks because they were just more comfy!! my twin pregnancy was actually pretty easy!! there was one week were I was so very sick - I thought it was the worst morning sickness ever - but
when the whole family came down with it - I realized it was a virus!!
so I had no morning sickness at all!! at times in the beginning I didn't even feel pregnant!! I did have some bleeding right around that time - it was caused by a subchorionic hemmorage - they told me to take it easy - no lifting, no standing for more than 2 hrs, drink lots of water - and things worked themselves out! there were lots of tests that we were offered -and given the option to pass on because some of them can be abnormal just because of age(I was 34) or because there are 2 babies! we did the nuchal translucency scan and the AFP but refused the quad screen and the amnio.(the amnio just because of the risks and because nuchal folds were fine and we would have had the girls no matter what)
I saw the doctor alot (both peri and OB)during this pregnancy - I got to see my girls on ultrasound at almost every visit - things I didn't
get to while pregnant with one baby!
I learned so much during my twin pregnancy - it was really a great experience and now I can't believe that these babies were packed inside of me!!!
while I was pregnant - time seemed to drag by - now looking back on it- it really flew!!!

I was the same i didnt have any complications at all no morning sickness, no heartburn i felt great! I had a little ligament pain because they were so low down during the whole pregnancy and oh i delvered them at 32.4 weeks!! So i suspose that was a little problem lol. x

    Congratulations and welcome to Twinstuff.

I am sorry to hear of your prior losses. Glad to hear things are going well with this pregnancy.

At 11 weeks the only pregnancy symptom I had was being tired, I was not showing at all. We hadn't told anyone yet so I was quite happy there were no obvious signs of pregnancy. We wanted to wait until the second trimester to tell anyone.

Looks like we are neighbors, I live one town to the West! I don't have much left in terms of baby items but certainly let me know if you need anything.

Please feel free to post your due date in the appropriate roll call sticky at the top of this forum. We would also love to have you share your upcoming appointment and milestone dates in the links provided so we can encourage and support your during your pregnancy.

P.S. Our ped is in Sudbury and I absolutely love the office, let me know if you don't have someone in mind and I can give you the name/number if you would like to check them out.

hello and welcome! i worried about the same things when i first found out i was having twins, but it got to the point where i choose to stop because i was getting depressed and needed to focus on the positive - i was really nauseous my first trimester, so i'm glad to hear that you avoided it! i have a 3 yr old son (who i'm not allowed to pick up anymore)- i feel like i was "showing" from the minute i knew i was pregnant! i've had a bunch of u/s already b/c they have a hard time finding the babies' heartbeats...

my twins are mono/di also...once i scan in my u/s pics i'll be happy to share - feel free to pm me also!

Hi and congrats on the twins! Try not to worry I didn't really have many symptoms either. I had some mild nausea around weeks 7-9 but that went away. Right around 12 weeks is when I started feeling more comfortable in sweats and maternity pants. If you are going to see a peri, they will take very good care of you and watch you very closely. Everything will be fine. You should get regular u/s and they
will check heartbeats all the time. You will have constant reasurrance that everything is o.k. The ladies on here are great.

    Welcome!
I didn't look any bigger (or feel) at 11 weeks either. ALso, be careful about comparing your size to other at the same week - I've noticed that I look a lot different from other posters at the same week - everyone really is different. Try not to worry to much - not good for the little ones [IMG]. Ther really isn't much you can do, either - except all the abstaining from everything. [IMG]

I'm really sorry about your other losses - we'll keep our fingers crossed for you. [IMG]

Welcome and congratulations!!! I did show by 12 weeks, but it was also my 6th pregnancy (including 2 miscarriages). Those miscarriages were just before my twins, so I totally know about the stress and worry over every little thing! I don't have belly pics from that early, sorry! There are lots of us who suffered miscarriages and then had good, healthy twin pregnancies. So like pp's said, try to relax (yeah, easier said than done), and focus on taking good care of yourself. It's the very best thing you can do for your little twinkletoes! Get lots of rest, don't spend too much time on your feet, stay well hydrated, and eat your veggies and protein. And feel free to PM me, if you're needing to vent or need some extra reassurances!

Hi and welcome! everyone has already said it: every pregnancy is different. Sorry for your losses, i know how difficult that is, but you are past the worst danger part.

I'm having mono/di twins, and when i found out (very early), i did a lot of research, read about TTTS, worried about miscarrying (I did bleed some early on, and so have LOTS of women who then carry to term, so if you get a little bleeding don't freak out; call your doctor, but try to BREATHE).

After a while of making myself INSANE with too much information about what COULD go wrong, i decided that since I couldn't control ANY of it, i was just going to deal with things as they came up. Took me a few weeks to do this, and it's gotten easier, even with some pretty bad scares.

I started wearing maternity clothes around 11 weeks (or was it 9, I have PREGNESIA!), but hilariously, a few things that friends lent me that were falling off me then are now just right or TIGHT (I'm 27 weeks).

Glad you've stopped lurking and stepped right in -this is a fabulous forum!

Congratulations! And welcome to Twinstuff! You're going to love this site. Try not to stress too much - I know it's easy for us to worry and I'm sure we all do since there's so much said of how tough twin pregnancies are - Try and take it one day at a time.
I hope your Level II u/s goes well. Keep us posted. [IMG]
