    Hello There,

My name is Tristin & I'm from Michigan. My husband & I have been trying to get pregnant for almost 3 years now. I've gone through the IUI process over & over again! July '07 I was pregnant with twins. I miscarried at 5 weeks & then the other at 8 weeks. It was horrible.... Oh, btw I am an identical twin. My sister has 3 kids.
I had problems with IUI & the drugs since they'd put me into hyper-stimulation when it came time to take the drugs and my ovaries would get as large as grapefruits and the pain was awful. Then I'd produce cysts so we'd have to skip a month or two... it was so getting old.
Finally, we decided that we'd try one more time and go IVF. It's hard here in MI since we both are in the automotive industry. I just found another (contract) job in June '08 (after being laid off for 7 months from Chrysler). In Sept. we went for our IFV procedure. I had about 30 + folicals in each ovary. It turned out that when it came to retrieval the doctor could only retrieve 5 embryo's.... Well, 4 were transferred back into me. Two ended up taking and we were thrilled to find out that we were pregnant. My husband was shocked seeing Baby A & B on the monitor!!!! We did see a "C" sac, but the doctor told us that it would absorb into the body or I would spot as it was flushed away.
Anyway, I was so scared those first few weeks since I miscarried before. We got into our about 10th week & I started spotting. I saw my doctor and they put me on bedrest for a couple of days. It was hard to explain to work, but I did it. We didn't want anyone to know until we were out of that first trimester.
Well, I went back to work and things seemed to be ok, I just took it easy. Then I spotted again. So, I was off work for another couple of days again. That was the beginning of November. I went a whole 3 days without spotting so I thought things were good & my body flushed the sac "C" as the way it should be.
Well, it was a Friday night and I woke up to go to the bathroom. I was horrified to find fresh blood all over me. I felt something strange and looked into the toilet and saw a sac. I was in a nightmare.... I lost one of the twins. I rushed and woke up my husband to rush me to the hospital. I was a mess. He retrieved the sac and we took it with us to the hospital.
A couple of hours later I finally got wheeled down to the ultrasound area. The tech actually asked us what was she looking for? My husband looked into the monitor and saw TWINS!!!! WHAT?????? TWINS???? The tech turned the monitor so I could see it. And there they were.... both of them... it was the happiest moment of my life!!!! One was covering it's eyes with it's little hands & the other was playing with it's umbilical cord... I had been crying for hours & was such a mess.... and now we were elated!!!!!!
The doctors told us that it was sac "C" and the pathology report of what we brought them would give us the results. I went to change into my clothing to leave the hospital as I was on cloud 9 now & was shocked to find that I had fresh blood all over me again... the doctors put me right into bed and I wasn't allowed to get up at all. They were afraid that I was going to miscarry one or both babies..... complete bedrest was what I was told. A week later I returned to work to let them know that my doctors were taking me off of work since I continued to spot. We found out that I didn't loose sac "C". The pathology report showed that I passe a lime sized blood clot and I still could miscarry. My last day of work was 11/24. I've been on bedrest until 1/7/09! The babies are doing really well!!! Growing and moving and all that they should be doing!!! I'm so lucky... Oh, we found out that we are having a boy & a girl!!! I am now 22 weeks along & have gained 6 lbs. I ended up getting laid off from work on 1/8/09, but I think that it's all going to work out for us!!!!!

I've been searching for advice about boy & girl twins and I do hope this is the site that will help me!!

    Thanks!

    Hi Danielle,

    Congrats to you!!!!!!

    First ?:

Are you keeping the twins in 1 crib when they come home or seperate cribs? Same room or seperate rooms? We don't know what would be better for them or us!!??

    Thanks!

We are just doing one crib in our room, I plan to breastfeed and with my first two singletons it's MUCH easier to have baby right beside me! I used a bassinet with my singles but since 2 bassinets will take up nearly the same amt of room as a crib, we just set the crib up in a corner of our room!

Probably around 6-8 months we'll move them out and they will be sharing a room. I have a son and daughter already that are sharing a room as well (3 bedroom house). Once the babies are in twin beds (around age 2), we'll switch them around to 2 boys in one room and 2 girls in one room! :)
