Right before school ended in Kansas, the Ident-A-Kid people came to the school and did the child ID's...I'd been wanting new ones anyway so of course I got 3 sets of cards. When they finally came in, I noticed the boys's height and weight...Isiah: 53" tall & 98lbs!!, Michael: 51" tall & 85lbs!! Sheesh!! Ok, so no wonder they (especially Isiah) were the biggest kids in their classes. So, are your's bigger than most of the other kids their age, smaller, or about average? Or am I just growing a couple of HUGE kids here that need to learn to play football? LOL

My boys are about 2 months older than yours. Jordan is about 48" tall and weighs about 48 lbs. That's about 50% in both height and weight (or at least he was when we went to dr. last fall). Conner is about 45" tall and weighs about 43 lbs. He's in the 25% for height and the 3% for weight.....

Jackson has always been either the tallest kid in class, or one of the 2-3 tallest. He is very slim, though, which I think makes him appear even taller. Hayden and Brady are a little better proportioned height/weight wise, but they also are usually the tallest in class. And all three of them have April/May birthdays, so they're also usually among the youngest.

Sean has always been in the 90th percentile for height, and below the norm for weight. B&C are in the 50th percentile for height and weight. They just turned 13 and last week I had Brian at the doctor for a skin infection. His weight was 92 pounds. I'd say your boys are gonna be BIG, Krystal!! Good to hear from you!!

DD is a tall and skinny one. She is right about 51" and right around 50lbs. She was the tallest in her K class (and one of the youngest), but it seems like a lot of kids hit a growth spurt that summer because she had a few her height and slightly taller in 1st. I haven't measured her recently but MIL seems to think she has shot up again so these #s might be off.

My kids have always been on the small side for their age. They are now 10, DD is 50", DS is about 51 1/2" and both weigh about 60 pounds.

Ok, wow...my boys ARE big boys, aren't they? LOL No wonder people have a hard time believing that they're only 7!! I guess with Ant being about 6' tall, size 13 shoes, and able to pick up a basketball with one hand has a little to do with it. Plus, me being 5'7" and always a bit of a "big girl" (LOL) doesn't help either. Ant better teach these boys how to play football and QUICK!! :D

Krystal, I'm also 5'7", but I was a late bloomer and was always one of the smallest (though never THE smallest) kids in my class.

When my mom did the old wive's tale formula when we were toddlers to figure out our future height, I was supposed to be the shortest. I turned out to be the tallest.

    DH isn't tall, though.

Caitlyn is 52" and 58 lbs. She was one of the tallest in her 1st grade class. She is very tall and skinny. Brianne and Hayley are also both tall. I think they are on the upper end for weight which is fine since they are tall.

I have the opposite problem. My boys are small for their age. They will be 6 in October and weigh 38 and 42 pounds and around 42-43 inches tall. If your boys are big for their age and healthy, I wouldn't worry about it.

I've got tall, but thin girls. In Kindergarten, they were both the tallest ones in their classes. Now, going into 1st grade they are both above 48" and Brooke is 46.5 lbs and Morgan is 50 lbs. At the rate they are growing, they may be as tall as your boys are next year (since they are a full year apart!).

XH is 6'1" and I am 5'1". My older son is 15.5 and is 6 feet tall, and soooo skinny (142 lbs). He's in great shape, though, works out all the time. My younger son is 13 and a hair under 5 feet tall. He's 95 lbs. He's much stockier and broader shouldered. He takes after my mom's side of the family, and will be lucky to see the 5'9" Renee's site predicted, IMO. The tallest one ever on that side is my cousin, who managed 5'8" only because his mother was 6 feet tall. I call the big one Long Noodle.

DH is 5'7". My girls are so exceptionally short they make me look normal. They do not have problems being underweight, but they have been at the 3rd percentile or shorter for height. They're so short they're shorter than I was, and I was always the shortest.

They are 4.5, but they are the size of the average 3 yo. People always guess 3, and then Olivia opens her mouth and they think I have some genius kid, but, nope, she's just much older than she looks!

However, the girls, despite looking completely different and having completely different body types, are quite similar in height, while the boys, who actually probably look as different, but both have red hair, which fools the eye into thinking they look more alike than they do, and have different body types also, could not be more different in height.

    Aren't genetics fascinating?
