I've been taking Prilosec in the morning to control heartburn. The last couple of days it's not enough and I'm in pain again. I remember someone saying they took something in addition to the Prilosec but can't remember what. Help!

I wish I knew what to tell you. Being on bedrest, I suffer from some heartburn, but sipping milk nand chewing on Tums helps me. D some people take Zantac?

I take Zantac 150 sometimes twice a day, but usually before bed because that is when I have the most trouble.

I take Zantac 150 twice a day & tums in the middle of the night when the heartburn comes back. I didn't get heartburn that bad until 32wks & since then it's been horrible, if I don't take the Zantac I can't eat anything.

Chew on NON MINTY GUM for instant relief. Think Juicy Fruit or Big Red. Helps almost immediately!!! :hug99:

Do you drink milk? I did not have m/s when I was pregnant at all but I had massive heartburn and tums were the only thing that made me sick. I never had to take any otc/prescription heartburn meds because when I had an attack I would drink a small glass of milk and it would instantly put the fire out...try it.

I've been doing the prilosec too but am considering ALSO taking mylanta again just so this constipation will STOP! When I first started the Prilosec I didn't have any problems with constipation - but it came back. It works well most of the time - and I was told that you can actually take a second one if needed - but I would check with your OB first.

    HTH!

Constipated huh? I've actually had the opposite problem, having a loose BM 2-3 times a day. Not fun when I'm out running errands and have to find a public bathroom. I see my OB on Thursday and I am going to ask about a 2nd dose. I took a Pepsid this afternoon and that helped some.

I have had bad heartburn and reflux lately. Drinking an ice cold glass of milk and sleeping propped up on a pillow seems to help.
