Just wondering when you ladies started feeling out of breath, and having your heart race upon walking fast or up a few stairs. I'm hitting 20 weeks and have had it for past 3 weeks. Yesterday my heart was 126 and racing so I spent 12 hours in the hospital. They were trying to rule out a blood clot (which i guess can cause same symptoms, plus i have varicose veins)
Anyway, all cleared medically......said with twins it's very common-heart working harder and all that.

Is this when it happened for you?

I'm a bit terrified thinking that if I feel this way NOW at 20 weeks, how am I going to be for later?

    (plus I have a 1.5 yr old!)

I remember being at work and going up 2 flights of stairs and it would get pretty bad. I was so out of breath it was a little embarassing! So, I just started to take the elevator.

My DS1 was 16 months when the twins were born and I was off work from 30 weeks until I gave birth watching him full time. I just went with the flow but took it easy in that I wouldn't run up the stairs or do too much rough housing with him. We would sing and play games on the floor, we would bake together, read lots and lots of books and enjoy a movie in the afternoon. When he would nap, so would I. Just take it easy!!!

Don't think about what it might be like going forwad....just go forward and take whatever comes your way.

I definatly do both and have for a while. I just try to take it easy and not do anything strenous. I do have 3 yr old twins as a SAHM, but are becoming so independent that it is easier. I have never worried, but I also have varicose veins so maybe I should.

I had the heart racing thing around 18 weeks for a little while. It cleared up within a couple of months, though. I'm not saying it was easy to breathe, but my heart didn't race anymore.

The thing is I passed out yesterday and was taken to hospital :( My heart was over 126 and so they were really concerned. Said anything over 100 is high and to just watch out for it. Hopefully with just being aware of how strenuous stuff affects me, I can keep it under control somewhat?!!!

Just before 20 weeks I also had racing heart rate... sometimes without any strenuous activity. I could just get out of bed and feel like I had just run a marathon. I did talk to my OB about it and he said that around that time is when your blood supply is really increasing. I found that if I sat and relaxed and took deep breaths it went away. Also dehydration can cause those symptoms so make sure you are drinking a lot. My hert racing has subsided but I do at times feel out of breath as I am getting better. Hope you are doing better.
