heart arrhythmias anyone?

Hi,
My peri referred me to a cardiologist due to my racing pulse, which turns out not to be a problem, however, during the 24 hours that I was on a monitor, they found I was having numerous premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) which usually aren't a big deal but I had one triplet, where three PVCs occured in a row. This somewhat concerned my cardiologist and now I'm on a monitor for a month (ugh!). His concern is that I could be having quadruplets which apparently indicates a serious heart problem. I have had the sensation of extra beats before in my life, but now that I'm pregnant I feel them pretty frequently, I wondered if anyone else has had this problem and how it was handled. I just want to get through this pregnancy!!!

Oh, and the good news is I had an unexpected u/s on Weds and we're expecting a boy and girl!!!!

 

Just to clarify, when I say triplet and quadruplets I'm talking about my heartbeats, not my babies
Still twins--phew!

 

i have had tachycardia (resting pulse 140 and higher) and irregular heartbeats since week 24 (at least that's when i finally went to the doctor to get checked). bed rest has worked for me. but i don't know if i had the triple or quadruple contractions. hugs to you, mama!

Jen - You didn't tell me this!!! All you told me was the exciting b/g news. Did they tell you anything more other than the fact that you've had the triple and they worry about the quadruple?

Now I'm worried about you. Don't overdo it and take good care of you. :hug99:
