    Was just wondering...

For the past month I've been VERY tired. The twins are sleeping longer at night & therefore I'm doing the same, but yet I still remain exhausted! Going for a walk leaves me winded & lightheaded. Also, I've been experiencing what seems like hot flushes. I get so hot during the day that I actually start to sweat (sorry if tmi, but I also skipped my period this month). I have taken a couple of pregnancy tests, and all are negative. I knew that I wasnt pregnant to start with because I have none of the known pregnancy symptoms & dh & I have been using birth control.

Any of you experience the same symptoms?

If this continues I'll be going to my doctor.

    Thanks

Were you on any bedrest? I was on modified and hospital bedrest and it took my body a long time to get back into shape. It seemed as if my whole body had atrophied. And hauling multiple babies is hard work. When mine were 4 months I was just starting to get out and about and I tired quickly. Now at 11 months I am not nearly as exhaused all the time, but I still have my moments. I would definitely bring it up to your Dr. I am seen some posts about thyroid and skipping a period. FWIW I still get hot flashes a lot (but I am also chasing around 3 mobile children :)

No bedrest, although my twins were born at 33 wks. They put me on all sorts of antibiotics, anti contraction meds & loads of fluids. I actually developed edema (water on the lungs) before the twins were born. Then two weeks later after the birth I hemoraged severly. I feel my body has not been 'normal' ever since..
Thanks for the tip on the tyroid, would never of thought of that...

Definitely get your thyroid checked! And get checked for anemia too - I felt like you're describing when I got anemic about 1/2way through my pregnancy, and a few weeks of iron pills did wonders.

:hug99: Hope you feel better soon.

I experienced the same thing - you descibed everything I went through. I thought I was peri-menapausle. Went to the doctor and she wanted me to get blood drawn - 12 hour fast etc. I'm sorry to say that I never went. It seemed SO hard to get out of the house at that time and the girls Dad was NO help at all. and fasting for 12 hours??? I was eating like was still pregnant. When I called the Dr. and told her my symptoms - she told me to take a preg. test. I did - even though I got a tubal after c-section. negative. I did not get a full blown - regular period until about 2 mos ago. I'm sorry I can't help in any way with info - but it must be something to do with carrying twins, having a c-section if you did - etc. I turned 40 in March and my Mom went through menapause early, that's why I thought maybe that was happening to me. Kind of curious as to what your doctor says.... good luck and I'm sure you'll be back to normal in no time!! :D

Get your thyroid checked! Thyroid problems are common post partum - up to 10% of women experience hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism (you sound hypo). It's an easy blood test and highly treatable. I just found out I'm hyper so I have a specialist appointment coming up.

I have had very similar experiences. Just exhausted all the time and crazy hot flashes. Hhot all the time then crazy flashes here and there as well. For me it just sort of passed about a month or so ago...
