What do you put in your daughter's hair; a headband, bow, both or nothing? If bow, please say how you keep it in.

WHen she was that little, we did headbands occasionally. Since it temporarily dented her head, I did not do it often (would give DH the willies).

WHen she got more hair (around 18 months), I started putting bows/barrettes in her hair. I use the tiny ouchless hair bands, and put her hair in pony tails using just the hair on top of her head. Then I accessorize by tying a bow around it or by putting a barrette over the rubberband (that is the only way it will stay in). I think my avatar may show her with pigtails.

I voted nothing, but I would consider a small little clip-in bow if Em would ever grow enough hair!! Personally I hate those headband things, the look like cheap garders to me!

When Emma was a baby, she wore headbands to church (because they matched her dress! [IMG]) but we didn't wear anything at home. The girl had no hair so we couldn't do bows. Here's a pic of her on her first b-day...
    Emma age 12 months.
As you can see we didn't have much hair to work with.

I voted no hair. My girls are bald eagles.

We do stretchy cotton headbands now and then. I had bought those satin looking ones, but like a PP said, they dented her head so they went back to the store.

I voted nothing, like the pps said the headbands leave a dent and I dotn like that. Even with the little bows, teh girls yank them out within 10minutes

We did headbands with Katelyn until she realized she could pull them off! [IMG] Now we do bows and I usually by the ones that are on alligator clips and clip it through the ponytails.

I said bow but I didn't start using them with dd until she was well over 2 and actually had enough hair that it actually made sense. I don't see the point in using head band or bows when they hardly have any hair (I don't like head bands for babies anyway).

Right now DD only has peach fuzz. When I have tried the haeadband she immediately pulls it down around her neck. I figure unless it's for a special occaision, it can wait until she has enough for a bow.

DD had her bow debut on Xmas eve (7 months old). I searched high and low for a bow that wouldn't just fall out since she's a bit bald. Over the past month she's gotten a lot more hair on the top of her head, so she gets to wear a bow when she's awake.

i put headbands on them when i want them to look dressed up. scary though sometimes they fall down over their eyes or mouth and they get very very annoyed! can't always find a way to make them stay in place...

I voted for nothing. Unfortunately my dd takes after her mommy and is bald. I should clarify that . . . I have hair now. I was a bald baby (ha-ha). I have already bought bows and can't wait to put them in her hair. The headbands look so funny I don't tend to use them.

We bought some stretchy lace bows for DD when she was a newborn and she wore them all the time here are some pictures of hairbows we have used. When she was smaller it was headbands, and now that she is older, we use the ouchless rubber bands, with barrtets that match her outfits. She now wears one everyday, because I have to keep the hair out of her eyes. HTH!

I typically put the headband on my little girl and people still ask if she is a boy or a girl. I personally like the stretchy headbands not the ones that look like garters. Here is a picture with her headband on.

I voted nothing because they don't really have any hair to put anything in.

We did the head bands when Katie was a baby....Like others said I didn't like the garter looking ones. The ones I used usually had one strip of lace and a bow instead of the double lace garter looking ones.

Now that Katie has more hair, I do bows EVERYTIME we go out although I've got to get a better selection on colors. She has about 10 but probably half are pink or have pink in them. Also Kyle has gotten really bad at pulling them out of her hair and trying to eat them [IMG] [IMG]

I'm not a big fan of the headbands. We used velcro bows when Meghan was younger and now use elastics or barrettes. I found some of the velcro bows in a google search here.

My twins aren't born yet, but my oldest DD was a cue ball for over a year. I hated the dents that the headbands left in her head and I agree with pp that they looked like garter belts! I'd buy the little packs of satin bows in the sewing department and stick them to her head with a dab of Karo Syrup. [IMG] Seemed to work great for us, 'til she started growing hair, then it was a bit messy. [IMG]

I use KY to keep the bows in instead of the syrup. I also got some cute cotton and some other kind of material that look really cute and don't leave dents. I am not a fan if the garter look either.

I voted nothing & my girls had lots of hair.

I really don't see the point of either if the little ones don't have any or much hair.
