I had a scary thing happen to me lastnigt .. I was giving my 5 yr a bath.. I turned to go get something out of the oven.. I thought my Girl twin was in the TV room... I heard my 5 yr yell mommy.. she was in the water head first balancing her body on the tub so her hands were at the bottom of the tub. her mouth and nose was under there and I was just thinking the worse.
my bathroom is near my oven so I ran over she was soaked not her whold head went under... I lost it I cried like a baby and said I just cant keep up.. I felt horrible. I am a very careful mother I am always nervous of something like this happening so I am aware of it at all times.. I felt so bad.. it was so emotional for me that I feel like I am always doing to many things to get everything done... she is fine and I called my doc's office and spoke to a nurse. I think she was more scared if anyting.. but is acting normal.. It just could of been so much worse and thinking about it makes me sick to my stomach that had happend.. I must of checked on her 4 times lastnight while she was sleeping... its a horrible feeling.

Hugs. We've all had those horrible mommy moments that haunt you for days... just remember, she's ok and you were there when she needed you.

I am so sorry! That must have been so very scary! I know that I have caught one of my twins standing at the tub when my 4.5 year old was taking a bath - and I always think, what if he tried to lean in? I think this is a good reminder to all of us that even when it is not our babies/toddlers in the tub, we need to be very aware of the dangers of the water - whether it is the toilet or an older child taking a bath. I probably need to start babygating the bathroom door while my older DS takes a bath. Don't be so hard on yourself, she is fine, the worst did not happen - and despite all of our efforts to be the very best parents we can be - things still happen.

We all have our moments. She is ok and that is what is most important at the moment.
    Lots and lots of hugs.

  What an awful feeling for you! But, yes, we all have those moments. Doesn't make them any less scary, just know you are not alone. And I am so glad everything turned out ok!

An acquaintence of my family's had a young child in the bath tub when the doorbell rang. The mom went to answer the door and when she returned her toddler had drowned. It can happen so quickly that it is so important to not leave the room when your kids are in the bath tub! I'm not meaning to give you a lecture, I have read that lots of moms leave the room when their kids are in the tub and that is so dangerous! I don't think people realize how dangerous it is and how quickly it can happen.

 I'm glad your child is okay.
