I feel like such a bad mommy but the last two times we took the girls out in their car seats when we got to where we were going our daughter Megan would be sleeping but her poor head had fallen forward. I can't imagine it was comfortable. What can I do to stop this from happening? DH is going to check the base and make sure it is still level. Any ideas?

We had that problem too, before they had the level thingy on the seats(with my first two kids). To solve it, I folded up a towel and put it underneath to make it more level.

Remove the base and tightly roll-up a towel, placing the towel in the elbow of the seat. This will allow the foot of the base to be slightly elevated. The seat will be more reclined when you resecure them.

We had these special pillows that velcro onto the carseat straps and keep the head in place, from BRU. They were great! I was just thinking about those today (sniff).

We use a rolled up towel around the headrest in the carseat, to mold the headrest to the size of his head. The NICU had to pack 2 towels around him to get him to pass the carseat challenge, the nurse there said to just rearrange them as he grew to make sure his head was well supported.

We bought a head rest at target that held them better than the ones that came with the carseats. Might be worth buying. Here is the link THey are only $10, I love them if they were sleeping, we used them until 6 mo then their heads were too big.

This used to happen with Ana too (she actually liked sleeping that way-ouch!). But we did what pp's suggested, rolled up a towel and placed it under the base back by the back of the backseat (does that make sense?).

When our girls were tiny, their heads would always fall forward when they fell asleep in the car seat (or to the side and forwards). We had these little pillow that you could put around their neck to help hold them up, but they never really liked them, so we just left them. We had our seats leveled and everything, but it didn't matter. As long as they were breathing ok, we just left them like that (if we moved their heads back, they would always fall again). They grew out of it once their necks got stronger.
