Do any of your children bang their heads? When did it start? For how long?

Although I don't have any answers to your questions, my mom told me once that she was a "head Banger".. She would do it to her parents when she wanted something done her way, and they would give in. She tried to do it with an aunt of hers and she said that her aunt grabbed the back of her head and helped her bang it!!!!! She said after that she never did the head banging again. I really thought that was funny!

The girls never did this but Dax just started about two weeks ago. He does it a few times when he gets frustrated and he'll crawl up and bang his head on your leg to let you know he wants something. I have no idea how long it will go on but I've definitely heard of children doing this before, especially in their cribs as they fall asleep.

My ds just started this too, about two weeks ago. He will bang his head against the wall if he is sitting with his back to it, or against the glass when he's looking out the window. Maybe its a sensory thing???

One of my girls does it when she's mad and throwing a temper tantrum. She just started doing it a few weeks ago. She'll bang it on the floor or the wall or her sister - whatever is close to her. I just ignore her when she does it, because it seems like she wants attention and that's why she's doing it.

Trevor did this for a bit around 18 months. It didn't last long, but I think it's pretty normal.

I posted this same question a couple of months ago. The girls were around 18 mo old and it didn't last long at all like everyone said it wouldn't. It usually only happened at night while in their cribs before they'd fall asleep. They've stopped somewhere between now and then.

Ryan still does it when he is throwing a major tantrum. It's decreased in frequency, but still happens around here.
