Okay, so I thought after reading HSHHC about 7 weeks back, I was having a major break-through. Anthony is on a strict schedule and was finally sleeping through the night again (7pm-7am). He remained swaddled. For the last 3 weeks.. its been HECK. He's back in OUR room because he won't sleep soundly through his crib.. he's even rolling onto his stomach in his swaddle! So, we transitioned him out of it (he was breaking out of it anyways and wasnt happy with it. Laterly, He's up all night because he keeps rolling himself over onto his stomach and won't try sleeping like that.. he has a meltdown and then is up for hours. I tried one of the sleep positioners.. HE ROLLS RIGHT OVER IT WITH NO PROBLEM. I don't know what to do. The room temp is fine.. hes fed.. changed.. ugh!! He is fine for his naps during the day. He'll sleep fine from about 7pm to 3am.. but after that.. its flip-flop.. crying.. playtime to him.. I put him back in his crib last night to let him cry it out but it went on for HOURS.. he don't like his stomach and won't roll back the other way even though I know he is more than capable of it.. HELP ME!!!!

I have not experienced this but what if you keep him on his stomach and comfort him to sleep. Maybe sing and rub his back so he will fall asleep on his tummy and become comfortable on his belly. Hang in there! Hugs to you.

No ideas either. All my kids that did that actually preferred to tummy sleep and it never was an issue. Sorry.

Mine did this when he first learned how to roll too. I tried rolling him back for the first few nights but I wasn't getting any sleep. So I decided to just let him cry it out. He cried for 10 mins and then was fine. Now he loves sleeping on his tummy. Good luck.

DD went through this a couple of weeks ago when they both rolled over and she kept waking up multiple times per night when she woke up on her tummy. She kind of freaked out a bit! A few days after I found her sleeping on her tummy in peace. I'm not sure there is anything to do, just rub his back to comfort him....and perhaps you can practice more tummy time during the day so he gets more used to being on his tummy.

It is hard when they aren't sleeping like this. I know we went through it with the boys, but it was the other way, they would roll to their backs and get mad b/c they HATED sleeping on their backs. Don't worry, it is a phase and this too shall pass.

The same exact thing was happening to me last week while we were in Florida for vacation. The first two nights were SO BAD. One baby was waking about every 30 minutes crying. It took us a while, in our sleep deprived daze, to figure it out.

The 3rd day of our vacation I went to Babies R Us and got some small sleep positioners to keep him in place. We have been using them for a week now and it is MUCH better. I do not plan to use them for long. He had just learned how to roll over and I figure he needs a little more time to get comfortable being on his stomach in general. I do not use them for naps although he doesnt seem to roll then anyway.

This worked for me so far. I will stop using the positioners in another week or so.

Do you mean a boppy when you say sleep positioner? I used to swaddle and lay him in the boppy. he would fuss from time to time but over all it worked.

I found that anytime they learned a new 'trick' we had a week or so of poor sleeping b/c sleepy time suddenly became the perfect time to practice their new feats of strength (even if that was at 3am) <_<

Hope you're getting more sleep by this time, and if not, that it will find you soon (at least until the next physical milestone is discovered)!
