Well I went to my weekly (35+) Friday OB appointment (after I had a fantastic NST @ the hospital)… and he came into the room told me he had lunch with my Peri last Tuesday and the peri thinks he should remove my Cerclage (I was flattered I was lunch conversation). I was excited it was coming out … I felt… wow I’m getting close… then I was scared … wow I’m getting close.

I was sore the rest of the day… which my Dr said the fact I was so sensitive to it coming out was a sign it need to come out… I just stayed in bed the rest of the day (even though my Dr said I could just go on with my day)… but I have to admit, my BH make me WAY more nervous with it out now…

    Elizabeth

PS i still havent gained any more weight... but the boys have and thats what matters....

Congratulations, you are past the danger point. I hope they stay in a little longer though, let those lungs get stronger. It is almost over now!!!!

Exciting! I will be so excited if I get to 35 weeks with these mono/di twins and our TTTS.

I'm not looking forward to getting my cerclage out. My docs are acting like they are having a hard time seeing where the sutures end. Ugh.

I thought it was funny but DH thought it was odd… I then pointed out I don’t think I was all they discussed… I had a peri appointment at 12 that day… he probably had lunch with him after I left ;)

You are so close and have done so well. 35+ weeks is awesome. By 36 I wanted them out so bad. At 37 they wanted out and the Peri agreed. :)

Keep them in a while longer and you will have 2 healthy boys to love.

You are on the home stretch now. Just take my advice and take it all in because it will be over so fast. I know right now it feels like things are dragging by but looking it back it will see like it flied by. I felt like I blinked and they were 2 months old, and now they are 5 months old

Thanks for all the well wishes… I did spend last night in l&d last night as my contraction got to 3 min apart and they were LONG and strong… they lasted a min and half…. It was hard to tell when one ended and the other began… I was quick to take my terbu… and it softened them… but they were still 5-8 min apart an hour after I took it… I got to the hospital and they hooked me up to an i.v (ouch) and gave me another shot of Terbu (ouchy burning)… and they eventually went down to 2 and hour… (This was a good 5 hours later on the world must uncomfortable bed :( )… so I am home and resting (on the world’s most comfortable bed :) )… cuddling as much with my 10 year old as he will allow (bribing with movie seems to get him to let me snuggle). They did check my cervix and it is closed… but it hurt as I just had the Cerclage removed… Thank you again… I think this trip scared me enough to put up with discomfort a little while longer… everything happen for a reason

April 18th is what I would love to keep them in till… then I will be 36+ weeks … and good luck to all my fellow due date buddies… I need to look up when the next full moon is, we may all have our wonderful babies then…

You are so close!! I remember those last few weeks.. So tiring and draining. I was in L&D once a week for contractions 3 mins apart.. They wouldnt not let the babies come out until 38+. We were scheduled for 39!!!!!! UGGHH.. It will be soon!! Start walking and vacuuming.. ;)

    Elizabeth-
Glad to hear that you are home cuddling with your older son and enjoying at least another day!! You are almost there.. can't wait to hear your birth story.
I'm assuming that you are going to attempt a vaginal delivery and that's why they removed the cerclage?? Did the remove it in the operating room or office?
I'll be having a repeat c-section so my cerclage is staying until after I have surgery.
Best of luck to you and the family.

I'm glad they stayed put alittle longer. It is scary when those contractions kick up and reality kicks in, that is always enough for me to say, ummm maybe not quite yet. Glad you are ok, hang in there, we are all almost there. I would be interested to see when the next full moon is also.

I am having a repeat c- section as well… they took it out because when I would have contractions I would feel pain at my cervix (sharp)… and the peri and my OB didn’t want me to rip it (ouch!!!) so they decided to remove it… they told me when I had it put in they don’t like keeping it in after 36 (my peri said 34)… But my OB did say he has had women who went the whole way and had it removed during the c section … which I wish was the case for me… as it hurt… BUT it hurting was a sign it needed to come out right away… I guess it normal doesn’t hurt… its described as uncomfortable as a pap smear…

OH it was at my regular weekly office visit… just like when you normally get stitches out…
