Almost as soon as Johnny learned to crawl, he was pulling himself up to standing. I think he probably won't be crawling long, he wants to be on his feet so much! But he's always falling over! [IMG] He pulls himself up on something and then lets go or slips....I think he fell about 8 times today. [IMG] I feel so bad, but I don't want to keep him from exploring & learning. I'm almost tempted to put a helmet on him, but I know it wouldn't stay on long. Did your babies have this many bumps when they were learning to "cruise"?

Emma was so bruised I expected someone to call Social Services on me at some point. She fell down constantly and she really isn't terribly gracefull now either. Dave was way worse, he seriously looked abused, everytime he fell he'd hit something hard right on his face. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I'm interested in the answers to this. We constantly have to supervise Lily so she doesn't fall, and here I though once they got mobile they'd be able to entertain themselves better. Yes, but now we have to be nearby because she pulls up on everything!

Her newest thing is trying to pull up on the swing or jumperoo while Grace is in them...ouch, that would hurt!

We have hours of video of my eldest hitting the floor! We watched the videos recently and laughed about it. In ever scene when he was about 9 months, he hit his head on something. He'd topple over whenever he walked. He had a ton of bruises but he turned out pretty ok lol

We are going through the exact same thing right now. Both of mine are pulling themselves up and like yours let go or try and move and fall. Trevor fell twice this morning and he was only up for 2 hours. There is really no way to prevent it unless you are constantly right there with them, but then they won't learn to do it on their own. All he does is crawl to find something new to pull up on. I just try and keep a much closer eye on them at this stage.

Seems like par for the course. Both my babies are doing this, most recently DD. She just clunked her head on the hardwoods the other day. Almost makes me wish we'd opted for carpet. Anyway she has a bruise on her forehead now. [IMG] Just in time for 1 year old pics.
