I have to mention that I love my son very much but I'm really at my wits end...he poops in the potty, knows how to poop in the potty - knows when to tell us but yet he sh!ts his pants at least twice a day! I'm really really finished with this - taking away his privledges such as TV and toys doesn't seem to be working - my dad seems to think putting him back in diapers is the answer  but I don't think it is - he'll just crap in them and it makes it easier to clean up...

I guess this is a vent - I don't know what else to do - he's completely pee trained and night trained - he hasn't had a night accident since we went to underwear nearly 2 months ago....

or if anyone has any advice that doesn't involve killing him - please let me know!

Oh man Amy, I wish I had some advice. :( I would be frustrated too. It definately sounds like he knows how to do it and all. :umm: I hope someone comes along with a suggestion (that doesn't involve that cutie getting hurt  )

I have no advice, just sympathy... I hope things get lots easier for you soon. In the mean time, I think you should get an award for post title-ing. THe title had me ROTFL... I thought, " you know this poor lady's had a bad day!"

Do you still clean him up when he poops in his underware or does he have to help clean up? What eventually worked with my DS (who was much harder to poop train than his sister) was making him actually empty the poop into the toilet, help clean them out and help to wipe his butt, etc. It took a bit, but I think that was the trick. I've heard boys are harder to train and I totally agree with that. I don't think I'd put him back in pull ups/diapers. You might see a total regression at that point. I feel for you and hope it gets resolved quickly.

I am still new at PT'ing, but I agree with the idea of either making him clean it up, and/or going to Pull Ups to save yourself from having to clean the poop out of underwear. It is NO FUN, I know.

    Hey Amy.

    ((hugs))...again.

I am so frustrated with my Nathan, too. He was completely PTed and then suddenly he started pooping in his pants again. It's been a while now, too. I resorted to putting pull ups on him again because I couldn't deal with the poopy underwear.

I tried getting angry and punishing him. Time out, butt swat, taking toys away. Nothing.
I tried totally ignoring it. Nothing.

I think for Nathan, it's an attention getting thing. He laughs about it. His favorite thing right now is to sing "I"m a poopy buuuut"

    *UGH*

I wish I had some advice to fix it for you, but just know that you are not alone.

We have similar issues with DD. Just this week we started giving her stickers when she puts poop in the potty. We also told her that for every poop accident she has, she will loose one of her stuffed animals from her bed (she has 3 in her bed) and then she will loose her woobie. So far we have only have one accident this week, which is good for her. I don't know if it is the sticker or the loosing stuffed animals that is motivating her, but it seems to be working.

Good luck and I hope things improve soon!
