hcg levels at 51/2 weeks

hi, i have a set of identicals already , almost 2 years and also a 6 year old and a 4 year old.

We have had an unplanned pregnancy that my hub isnt too happy about. I had a blood test at 5 1/2 weeks and the hcg levels came back at 11002. I have a sneaking suspicion i am having another set of twins,

with my twins i had a blood test at 8 weeks and my levels were 155000.

i know the only way to tell for sure if we are having twins again is to have an u/s, which is scheduled monday morning, but i'd love to hear your thoughts.

are their any ladies out there with twins who have their hcg readings at 5 wks handy?

I had 10,200 at CD29/14 or 15 DPO, so also around that time. Then they did an u/s at 6w4d (a week later from what I recall) and sure enough. However, I've heard people having way higher and they only had one so it's no guarantee.

 

Mine weren't that high. However, I also found out EXTREMELY early. We had been trying and the day before I was supposed to get my period I got a wild thought and just took a test. I took a clearblue digital and it came back positive. I work in a doctor's office so I just drove up to my work and asked one of our docs if I could take a blood test since I'd had a previous miscarriage just a few months before.

At 3 weeks 4 days pregnancy (keep in mind all these dates are from the first day of my LMP) my total Hcg was 20.
At 4 weeks exactly it was 72.
At 4 weeks 3 days it was 300.
And at 5 weeks 4 days it was 8309.

That was the last time we checked the levels and at my first OB appointment which was 6 weeks 3 days she did an ultrasound because I'd been spotting for a couple of days and my history of miscarriage. Turns out there were two sacs and two heartbeats.

I had pretty high levels and it was confirmed at 6weeks 2days that I was indeed having twins.

At 15DPO my HCG level was 1809
At 25DPO my HCG level was 24253

 

14 DPO I was 1620
16 DPO I was 3250

 

12dpo 346
15dpo 1135

Its not so important how many weeks you are when figuring out the levels this early on as it is how many days past ovulation you are. A "good solid" number (according to my RE) was 50 at 14dpo for a singleton.

The number should double every 48-72 hours until it reaches a certain point early on and then it slows down.

• 9/3/09 – Four + different pregnancy tests all positive. Went for lab work to be sure. LMP 8/4/09. Unexpected! Maybe Ovulated around 8/22-25???
9/8/09 – Got the results back. HCG 19 & Proges 26.9 (I was maybe 10-12dpo)
• 9/10/09 – 2nd blood draw HCG 905 (around 17dpo)
• 9/17/09 – 3rd blood draw HCG 22,776 and they set up u/s (around 24 dpo)
• 9/25/09 - 1st u/s I am having TWINS!
