My girls are 14 months, Brooke will drink her milk and anything else out of a sippy, no problem. But Madison will NOT drink her milk from a sippy, everything else is fine, just not milk. She will take a sip and throw it. On the rare occation that I give Madison a poddee bottle with milk Brooke comes after her and wants one too. So what do I do? Do I just give in and let Madison have the bottle so she will drink it? Do I let Brooke have one too? I even tried those nuby cups that are soft top sippys (which to this day is the ONLY way my ds will drink his pediasure from) but Madison is STUBBORN!
    Please help me, thanks!

Have you tried the Nuby straw sippies?

I agree with pp. Have you tried any straw cup? Our kids have always preferred straw cups.

Both of my girls were like this and even buying the straw sippies didn't help that much. They eventually caught on and accepted that milk can come from a sippy just as easily as it does a bottle. They are just conditioned that milk or formula should come from a bottle and don't take well to changing that. She will though. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, just keep offering her milk in a sippy. One thing the daycare did when mine first started (back when they were 12 months old), is that they use the First Years disposable cups which actually they wash and re-use like most of us do. The girls eventually accepted it and since they had no problems drinking the milk that daycare served to them out of those cups, then those are the cups that we bought and used. Now, the girls will drink milk out of whatever the milk is in. Just be patient. She's expressing her own personal dislike at the moment. Remember, she is a little human being and the older they get the more expressive of their opinions and likes and dislikes they will become. Hang in there.

As long as you're still giving her bottles with milk, she may keep refusing to drink it from a sippy. I recommend getting rid of the bottles completely. (Mine never drank much milk from sippies until we gave up bottles -- then it took a couple of weeks for their consumption to go back up.) Or, if you're really worried about her not getting enough milk, give her a bottle at the same time every day, but never any other time. That may be the only milk she drinks, but at least it will be some, and you won't face the decision at every meal of whether to give in and give her a bottle.

FWIW, we also use the First Years take & toss ones, for the same reason -- I wanted something as close to what they used at daycare as possible. They work fine and they're easy to wash!

I agree about getting rid of the bottles. It may help to make sure that she knows you are doing it. Maybe she can even help to throw them away (in a separate clean trash bag if you don't really want to put them in the trash). That way she is part of the process. If she doesn't have the option of a bottle, she will eventually start to drink from a sippy. Also, don't offer another kind of drink if she decides not to drink the milk you have given her. When she is thirsty, she will drink it.
