Having potty concerns

We are about to go through a few weeks of construction in the house and then their first trip to Florida for Christmas. It really just occurred to me that maybe potty training now is a bad idea. They are making slow progress, but I only did just start. I do feel I can stop and start again after all the madness ends. We won't have access to our kitchen and that is a big deal here. I don't have anywhere else to go during all this house work, so it's not like they can feel like they are just visiting family.

Should I stop the potty training and just start again after the holidays? Should I just continue since I've already started? I don't want to give up, but I'm just afraid this will be too much for them with everything going on. What should I do?

 

I would wait until things settle down. That's just me, though. I'm attempting to PT during Thanksgiving weekend. If they aren't on their way by that Mon., then I'll wait a few more months.

 

we started in April/May and started slowly, knowing we had a trip in July. We didn't do much on our trip and started back after that. I don't think ours regressed during the stop... its probably worth the wait to just go slow during all the construction and the trip. when they are learning it was really hard for me to get out and about... and to make it to the bathroom in time. I'd say do what you can, and if it gets too much the shelve it until later! you'll get it done soon enough.

 

I would probably stop & start again after the holidays when you will have more time to devote to it. I always found it hard to potty train when lots of other things were going on!

 

I'd stop. But then, I'm the opposite of a hardcore potty-trainer. :lol: I'm a lazy trainer - and if there is too much work for me, I stop and start again when I feel like it won't take much time and effort.
