I will be 26wks tommorrow. I am contracting every 7-8 minutes for the last hour and a half. What should I do?? I cannot lay down because I am at work. I am chugging water but they are not letting up. Not real painful but definately tighting. I hate to go to L&D because today is our first day with new insurance and I don't have a card yet. Dr is closed. What would you do?

I would go in! Even if you dont have a card yet, they can get that figured out later. It is soo much better to be safe than sorry. Good Luck! I hope it turns out to be nothing, keep us updated! :hug99:

I would drink lots of water and take the rest of the day off AFTER a phone call to L&D!!! That is serious and nothing should matter but the health of your baby & you! They can look you up and see that you are insured!

Go in! I delivered my twins at 27 weeks and before that, I went in to L&D a lot due to frequent contractions. Nothing's more important than you and your baby's health. Hope it's nothing but better to be safe and get checked out. Good luck and keep us posted.

I agree, better safe than sorry at this point. I would call L&D or even call your OB office (if they do an on-call dr. type service...I know mine does when the office is not open) and see what they want you to do.

I know this is cliche, but a full bladder can also make you contract...so yes, while you are supposed to drink a lot of water, it's important to keep emptying the bladder too. this was SO hard for me when I was having PTL with the twins.

I hope it's nothing, but I would get checked out.

I also agree that you should go in. Its soooooo much better to be safe and then worry about everything else later. I hope its nothing and your able to just rest for alittle while.

Thanks for caring ladies. I did go to L&D and get checked. Cervix is closed and long. Contractions let up when I was laying so they sent me home. Here is the crappy part, dh didn't even offer to come to the hospital.

I'm glad you went and everything was okay.
:hug99: Sorry, your DH didn't offer to go with you. I would hate going and being worried all alone. :hug99:

:hug99: I'm sorry you are having a rough day. I hope the contractions stay away and dh realizes what could have happened!

I am holding my own today. I have had a few contractions this evening but they aren't timeable so I am trying not to think about it.
