Having contractions that I can't feel at 33 weeks

I had a routine NST yesterday. The twins passed but it took 55 minutes. 15 minutes longer than the alloted 40 mintues. During my NST they noticed I was having contractins every 2-6 minutes. Therefore, I had to be monitored for 2 more hours and have 2 cervical checks. The contractions weren't causing me to dialate and the only contractions I could feel were the Braxton-Hicks. Since I am contracting like this, does this mean that I will be having babies soon? Or, do you have contractions like this for weeks? Scared! I am only 33 weeks.....need babies to cook longer.

Well I was having contractions at 24w, but they were shortening my cervix/making it dilate, and I didn't feel them at all. I was not even having BH.

I've never felt a single contraction during this entire pregnancy. At the NST they said I had one or two. Then when they started the Pitocin when I was induced I didn't even feel one (going from 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 cm in an hour), then I got the epidural when they broke my waters ... so I never felt a single one, but I must of had them, at least a few, but I did make it to 38w2d even though I was dilated from 32 weeks onwards.

I know that my stepmom had contractions that she could not feel also. She went for weeks before she went into labor. Good Luck!

its common foryou to have weeks of BHC to prepare your body for the real thing.

Ive been having LOTS of contrax lately..And I too am 33 weeks...As long as they arent making any changes your fine..If they become reg and more frequent I would def call your dr and get checked..

My cervix shorted to 2.5 at 20 weeks, but not b/c of contractions. I was placed on bedrest at 27 weeks b/c I was 1 cm dilated. I also started having BH around 27 weeks and then non-stop BH contrax at 30 weeks (which landed me in the hospital for PTL on terb and then on mag) for most of 30-34 weeks (25 days total in 3 different admissions). My BH didn't start to change my cervix until about 33.5 weeks. At that point I was 2 cm dilated and 100% effaced and then at 34w1d (when I delivered), they had taken me off the mag b/c it wasn't working anymore and I was 4-5 cm and 100% effaced...so I was taken in for my c-section

BH seem to be different for everyone. I felt EVERY single BH contraction.

I think that the contractions are okay as long as there aren't any changes to your cervix. My doc had me going for the NST once a week from about 32 weeks. He was worried that I wouldn't feel the contractions because of a fibroid that got pretty big. He did this for both pregnancies. My cervix never changed, I never went into labor. Your doctor will probably keep a watch on you because of the contractions (they could be bh).

I started having contractions at 24 weeks and I had no idea either. After that I started tuning into my body more and realized what the contraction felt like and now I feel them randomly. They didn't cause me to go into labor and I am 34 weeks and 5 days! Did they give you meds or mention giving them to stop them? I was given a trebutaline shot at 24 weeks and 32 weeks to stop them. Ask your dr at what point do they not stop you from going into labor. Good lcuk!
