I am 32 weeks pregnant. I had my first NST 2 weeks ago and it turns out that I'm having contractions every 2 minutes or so, but I don't feel them. The nurse was surprised as they were registering during the two tests I've had so far. I did have the pre-term labor test a week and a half ago and it came back negative. My cervix has softened and has shortened- but down to 4.1, so that's still good. I had the first betamethasone shot on Monday, but had a reaction to it, so I didn't have the second one. My doctor doesn't think I'll be going into labor in the immediate future.

Every once in a white I feel what feels like someone pushing on my up high- right under my bra line- the nurse said that could be a contraction. When the uterus contracs it's squeezing them and one of them is pushing out. Has anyone experienced a contraction like this? I'm just kind of concerned that I'm having them and don't feel them. Should I not worry about them since I don't feel them??

I don't really have any advice to give you on this but wanted to say goodluck! I hope those babies stay in there. Are you on bed rest? Might be sonmething to consider.

I will be 32 weeks tomorrow and had the same thing happen to me yesterday. I called my dr. because I wasn't feeling well (thought I had HBP and headache, backache) but as it turns out I was contracting every 1 to 4 minutes! Yikes! I had no idea I was contracting! My lower back has ached really bad and sometimes it hurts under my rib cage also. I also got a shot of terb which helped stop the contractions and was sent home on bedrest. I go back tomorrow for regular OB appt and u/s and I'm sure another NST. I have heard that terb stays in your system for 24 to 48 hours. I need to keep these girls cooking for atleast another 2 weeks! I would love to stay out of the NICU!

I completely can relate to you! Let's hope we can keep the babies cozy inside for a while longer!

When I went into L&D at 24 weeks I was having a TON of contractions that I wasn't feeling. When you have a contraction your stomach will get really hard, as if you were pushing on your forehead. As long as your Dr isn't concerned, and it doesn't sound like he is then I wouldn't worry. GL!

When I went in to be induced, they told me I was already contracting every 2 minutes but I wasn't feeling it at all. I started pitocin and still couldn't feel anything until I'd dilated to 5 cm and even then it wasn't like it hurt. I don't know what to tell you. The nurse had me feel the outside of my belly during a contraction and notice how hard it was but I was 39 weeks... it was pretty solid all of the time. The good news is that I wasn't in agony waiting to get far enough along for an epidural.

When I went to my routine appt. at 23w6d and found out my cervix was short and I was dilated to 2cm they sent me to the hospital to see if I was having contractions. I told them I was not. They hooked me up to the monitors and sure enough I was having them. I didn't feel a darn thing.

This scares me! I really don't remember much of the labor with my son anymore. I was induced and never went into labor on my own.

I hope I start NSTs soon to make sure that I am not having contractions and not knowing it. My belly is always getting hard or seems to feel solid a lot of the time it seams. I need to start keeping track!

When I had the boys I was having contractions every 2 or so minutes at first and did not feel them and I never felt them during the NSTs, but then I would be in pain at the NSt and not be having a contraction LOL It is so weird everyone is so different when it comes to the way your body handles pregnancy and labor. Hope they are keeping a close eye on you!
