Just found out my Dr wants to do an Amnio the day before our scheduled C-Section. They said it is to confirm the lungs are fully developed.
Does anyone else have any experience with this or have this scheduled as well?

I have no experience, but I just wanted to tell you good luck with your amnio and your c-section!!

I have been pregnant and delivered 6 times (all c-sections).........in 4 of my c-sections, we had to do an amino first to check for lung development.

What happens is you go for an ultrasound, and while having the ultrasound, the doctor finds a place where there is a fluid pocket around the baby, the put a needle in and extracts a small amount of fluid.....they then send it for tests to see if the baby's lungs are developed enough for the child to breathe room air. It hurts as much as being stuck with any needle, and that is about it.
