i changed my ob appt yesterday because of cramping. well my b/p was 144/90 just felt crapy. well, the dr did an exam that felt like she was trying to claw my throat out from the other end (if you know what i mean). so i go home after she tells me to just drink more water. so today im at the hospital with my ds as he is getting circumsized and went to the bathroom and my mucus plug comes out. i have never lost it before and not wanting to go to another hospital i call the dr and she says just wait it out. i am 36wks with mo/di boys. did you loose yours and if so how much further away was delivery?

My last pregnancy it wasn't until my membrane sweep that I lost my plug. I have heard that if a doc is rough or even just from a regular exam you could spot a bit but it is good to check. Sorry I can't be of more help! Good luck!!

Unfortunately, losing the plug doesn't really tell you much about how soon labour will be, it just tells you that you're near the end (like you didn't know that already!) Some women lose it and go into labour a few hours later, others lose it and go a few weeks before labour begins (and often, if that happens, it rebuilds and you get to lose the gross thing again!)

I remember I lost my mucus plug with the twins at 36 weeks... I was so excited, thinking.. any day now! Well, at 37 weeks and 2 days i was induced.. and the babies still did not want to come out! Thus my c-section. Other girls go into labor right after they loose their plug, others don't... There really is no way to tell :(

I lost my mucous plug at 24 weeks and didn't deliver my girls until 28 weeks. My Dr was not concerned at all about me losing it. She said that it was very common in twin pregnancies because of the excess amount of mucous, and she also said it was not an indication of labor. Best of luck to you!!
