Have I created monsters?

My sons can both entertain themselves easily and are recently starting to engage and "wrestle" more with each other (so cute!) however I have to constantly be in the room!!! We have them gated in the living room so I get nothing done! I do let them out while I cook their meals but I still have all the doors blocked off so they can't really go anywhere.

Have I created monsters? I mean I play with them but they also play a lot of times with each other/alone but still need me in the room!

 

It's the age (to some degree). 12-15 months was the worst (if I remember correctly) -- I thought it was due to my being at work a lot of the time, so they were especially desperate to be near me, but it seems like it happens with a lot of kids this age, even if they're home with you all the time.

 

I hear ya! It's the same here! I'm also hoping it's just the age and it will pass. I also find it's worse at night, when they are tired! I really think they are starting to set boundries, but still need us there to 'check in'.

I have my pen set up upstairs. i hear them wrestling, but I am not in the room. I find they cry less when I'm not there. It's like they kiss and make up cause I'm not there to do it for them. When I am there and they wrestle, they do fuss more about who wins and who started it. I do referee a bit if it's getting too rough. For the most part, though, they are good about it and don't hurt each other.
