On Monday, I took the twins to the doctor again and decided to take myself to urgent care. THe babies had been sick for weeks and still had nasal discharge. They are fine now.

Well anyway I saw a dr. and he sent me to the lab because my throat was very swollen and he wanted to check for strep. I get called by the lab tech and while were in the room he says to me:

They look pretty close in age!

I said yep 5 minutes apart, their twins. He had a surprised look on his face. I don't think twins ever entered his mind once.

    So have you?

Edited to add I do have strep.

That happened to me last night, by a pediatrician no less! Nevan is only 2 pounds heavier... I think people assume twins look alike and are the same height/weight.

Sorry you have strep...hope you feel better soon

As for the comment, yep, got it before. What I wonder is if they arent twins, then just how quickly do people think we got pregnant after the first one?? And just how long did we carry them [IMG]

    People are silly

I'm sorry you have strep - I just got over it last week. No fun at all - I hope you got the shot and it will be gone before you know it. I got lucky and none of the kidlings got it...I hope you have the same luck [IMG]

OK- I'm going to admit something here that I probably shouldn't. But, I actually asked somebody that once! [IMG]
She was carrying one twin who was smaller and a sucking pacifier and the other was walking with her and looked older to me. But only like 4 months older. So-- yes I asked the dumbest question-how far apart are they? What's funny is we became friends and I became preggos with twins only a few months later!

I've gotten that a few times too because they look NOTHING alike, and Ian is a few pounds heavier than Abigail

When they were younger everyone always assumed they were twins... but now they ask the age difference... I'm like 1 min!

Yes, I get this all the time. Ds is about six and half pounds bigger than dd and they look nothing alike.

We had a lady at Home Depot ask us how old they were. DH said they are 8 1/2 months. She then proceeds to ask "are they twins?". I just laughed as DH answered her. Not to mention they were dressed EXACTLY THE SAME, both in infant car seats in their stroller. Too funny!!

Ainsley and Sierra had a pretty big weight difference for the first few months of their lives and I constantly had people asking me how much older Ainsley was than the "baby". They'd look a little shocked when I'd say they were twins. [IMG]

people always ask, and what i find hilarious is the fact that when we say yes, and answer that they are boy/girl, they then still ask if they are identical. HELLO!?!?!? there are a few KEY parts that distinguish boys and girls!!!! plus, you can take one quick look at them and tell they look nothign alike! people are so odd. [IMG]

I just had to come back to this after the day I had today...I was asked 4 times today if they are twins [IMG] Then some old guy was talking to my son and said if he liked his brother and sister...ummm both girls were in pink dresses, both with tights on and both have their ears pierced...I wonder just which one he thought was the boy [IMG]
Ive decided from here on out,Im just going to say "nope" and as I walk away just mumble "heres your sign" (I love the blue collar comedy tour heheehe).

I had a nurse at Children's Hospital ask me if they were born on the same day once I confirmed to her that they were in fact twins. That is only one of the many reasons I have nothing good to say about that organization (in my own personal experience with a certain dept anyway).

[IMG] I have wanted to say the same thing SO many times!!

Yup we still get that comment. SOme people will still ask even after we have said they are twins " How far apart are they" Like the minutes or hour make a difference or something? [IMG] Its another question I just think is silly.

I get that all the time...because they are b/g twins (my guess on why people cannot figure it out!?) ha ha

Yup...ive gotten that several times and get this...mine were like 4 oz apart until one month ago so how it is they thought one was older is beyond me! A lot thought I was like a baby sitter for two infants...um yeah..in the same car seats, with a double snap n go, the same size..look identical to each other and sometimes in the same outfits...wow...I must look for parents that look awful similar to sit for their kids...not to mention my 3 1/2 year old looks identical to the twins just older!

That reminds me of when I took all 4 kids to Wal-mart. Someone turned to the twins and said your nephews are so adorable. I was flabbergasted. Like I couldn't possibly have more children. I think Ty told her that they were his brothers, Peyton and Eli. He is so proud the twins!

People have started asking me lately if they're both mine! (Just to clarify, in my avatar, my twins are on the outside, with their friend between them!)

At bunco Fri night I was showing A and C's first birthday pics....one lady says "boy, as they get older, they are starting to look more and more different". The next lady said "wow, as they get older, they sure are looking more and more alike".

    I just nod my head.

I get stupid/funny comments all the time. I had them in matching pink dresses one day. This woman was talking to them for about 5 minutes and finally asks me if they are twins. I said yes and then she says. A boy and a girl. How nice.
I had one woman ask who was older, so I told her Katelyn was one minute older. She insisted that I was wrong, Kristina is the older one. When I aksed why she said it was because Kristina had less hair, looks like a boy and boys are usually older!!
