Mine don't have acid reflux, but when I first tried to give DD Gerber Puffs the same gag/vomit thing happened. I just kept trying, and eventually she got it, and now she's eating them like a pro.

My girls gag every time I introduce a new food. They don't actually vomit but that might be b/c as soon as they gag I stop trying to get them to eat. I have to introduce a new food several times before they will accept it and actually eat it.

It is getting better the older they get but when they were your son's age it was gagging at every meal.

one of my girls was a gagger too when I tried finger foods at first. And I also was terrified of them choking. I broke up cheerios in the beginning, or gave them TINY pieces of banana, turkey, or cheese. Basically anything they could swallow whole without choking. I also didn't start finger foods until 11 months because my girls just weren't ready before then. GL figuring it all out.

The first food my girls really ate was bananas and I think that's b/c the baby food bananas were their favorite. Kraft Mac N Cheese was an early favorite too, but not until after they got over the texture of the noodles. I think the way we first got them to eat mac n cheese was that DH made some for himself and they were so curious about what he was eating that they started trying it.

Same thing happened here! It is so much better now than it was at that age. ETA: Mine also loved sweet or mild veggies, fruit, crackers and yogurt at that age. We started yogurt at 8.5 months. Hang in there  .
