    hi there!

our guys can crawl out of their bumbos, tip their bouncies over and escape from their swings (all of which we've gotten rid of). now they are hanging from the sides of the pnp, and seem like they want to get out! i am wondering if it's possible to tip the thing over--if they put their energies together and hang from the same side when they are big enough.

and btw, they spend very little time in the thing! they have a really large play area and we give them supervised run of the house a lot of the time. but when we do need to contain them they sure don't like it! i think it might not be long before they escape from the pnp.

has anyone done this? how big were your babies at the time? (ours are around 18-19lbs).

    just wondering. thanks!

Jake did escape but our pnp was adjacent to a chair. He was older than your boys, but smaller. We also used the pnp for naps mostly, never really as confinement (that's their room). :)

Yeah, mine did but they were on the outside and both were hanging on it. I don't recall how old they were but between 10 and 16 months and they're skinnies so they were under 20 pounds (we quit using the PNP at 16 months because they'd just climb out). They also tipped over a huge speaker, the coffee table, and moved couches by working together. Time to fasten stuff to the walls if you haven't already.

Mine started trying to escape from the swings at about 5months, bouncies at about 6months, bumbos at around 6months as well. And, I assume the pnp is not to far off! If we put any toys, blankets etc in the pnp they stand on them to try and get higher!

I know he's not a twin, but my son when he was about 12 mo learned how to take his apart. Like you I only used it if I had too, Im cooking and afried he might get hurt, quick shower, moments when I need to know he is safe but can't keep my eye on him or didn't have a spare hand. Stinker!

My son could climb out of his pack'n'play at about 14 months, but he never tipped it over. There was only one of him though.

My twins are too little BUT my monster son (soon to be a 55 lb, TALL 4 year old) flipped his many, many times. We lived in a 3 story and it was necessary to his safety if I had to go to the b/r... (even though we had gates on gates, on gates...) so we braced it with a sofa and padded coffee table and I shouted "no CLIMBING" constantly while I peed.... he did survive the flips though  .

I haven't had this problem yet with the twins as they are still so young, but my first DS was a professional escape artist by one year old. Oh, I hope the twins will not be this way!

I really don't have much advice for you. I can't put the boys in the pnp together or they'll beat each other up!! I know with DD she did climb out of hers once and fell on her head - she never tried again - but I don't remember how old she was. Just wanted to say that I saw the post subject and laughed, then I saw you posted it and laughed more!! Joshua is at that point now, getting out of everything but pnp, Matthew is still in swing and stuff, but not for long. Hopefully they won't knock it over on you!!!
