Hardin girls!

A little late, than never...right?!

Two weeks ago, I had gone to the DR for swelling and high bp. Thus far I showed no real signs of protien present in my urine. They asked me to repeat my 24 hour urine catch last Wed-Thurs (13-14th) The DR called Friday morning, letting me know I needed to pack a bag, for me and the babies, and head to the hospital asap. My protien had gone from 150-500. We got to the hospital friday afternoon, they took my bp 156/112 *YIKES* (this would be one of my lower numbers for the following 3 days!) They let me know they would be admiting me, I would only be allowed to get up to use the bathroom. Ordering NST's 3 times a day, BP readings every hour and advised me to stay calm and eat as much as I could possibly stand! Friday went by with no real issues. Sat I woke up with a POUNDING headache. They gave me something for the pain, that really didn't help... Finally got some sleep. Sunday, afternoon, same thing, head ache .... Monday finally came around. I had seriously thought I would probably be going home... on strict bed rest.... ..... WELL, At 6am MY DR and the head MFM dr came in, they advised me, that Monday seemed like a great day to have some babies! ***WHAT?!?*** They felt with all of the issues I was having, it was only a matter of time until the Preeclampsia, became eclampsia. They would be inducing me a little later that day!!!!

So Monday, November 17th, my induction started. I was induced with my son, and knew what to expect. The longer drawn out, yucky birth! lol They check my cervix to see just how dialted I was, I was a loose 1cm and that was about it. They though it best to use a folley ball to get me to 3cm. That went really quickly. I was now at 3cm, having small contractions on my own. They wanted to break baby A's water, I felt like it was tooooo soon. And after 2 trys they finally agreed. I was given a epidural when I got to 4cm ( that took nearly 2 hours) And at that point they also broke baby A's water... I stalled at 4-5cm. During this time we had a very real scare, I was up talking to everyone in the room, I was feeling great, joking... Completely pain free! Suddenly, I told the nurse I didnt feel right, I couldn't breath, my eyes rolled back into my head and I was gone. From what my husband and family shared, it was pretty scary. Because the epidural and some of the other drugs, I had a small reaction to the combo.. it took me alittle while to come back from that. They stopped the pitocin drip and just had me on the mag for a few hours to watch me. After alittle while, we got things rolling again! Around 2am I asked the nurse I wanted to roll over on my right side, I knew the moment I did that, baby A dropped. In a hour I went from 5cm to 9cm and feeling a REAL NEED to push! Then my nurse informs me, I can't push, they dont have a OR room for me to use!!!!!!! Im holding back with everything in my body. They are running around, trying to get things together, they check me, I am a FULL 10, and very ready, Baby A was coming ready or NOT! After about 10 min they where running me down to the OR. They get me on this SMALL table and tell me at any point I can start pushing. After a few rounds of pushes, they let me know that baby A is coming head up and is causing some problems. But I kept Pushing, And at 4:04am November 18th Mackenzie Lynn came into the world weighing a respectable 5lbs 1oz! My uterus was freaking out at this point, no amount of drugs had me prepared for the pain of that! It was contracting down to get ready for Baby B. They grab the ultra sound machine and advise me I AM NOT ALLOWED TO PUSH AT ALL! they couldn't find Baby B! **WTH** Well, the reason for that was, she was sitting in my birth canal ready to come into the world... so finally after what seemed like forever they said said, OH SHE'S CROWNING! Then finally let me push! After 2 pushes, Baby B came like a bullet into the world! Weighing in at 5lbs3oz Alexis Marie was Born at 4:21am!

After the girls where born, I was moved back directly to L&D, and I had to stay there on a mag drip for the next 24 hours, due to the Pre-E. I was allowed to see the girls for about 30min after a 5 hour recovery time, holding them put me on cloud nine!

Right now we are on day 6 of being in the NICU, they plan on sending Alexis home tomorrow! Mackenzie should follow just a few days later, they are thinking Thanksgiving! Aside from just being small and premature the girls have had NO medical issues or set backs. They are growing and nursing. We have so much to be thankfull for!

Congratulations! I had to laugh that they couldn't find Alexis. Silly people, she was ready to enter the world like her sister!! They are beautiful! Great job Momma!!!

I admit that I also laughed when they couldn't find Alexis. I'm sure it was very much not funny at the moment but, in retrospect, it's kind of a hilarious shock to suddenly not be able to find a baby. I'm glad the girls are doing well!
